Actually, I was thinking something similar to this as well.

I have 3 firestorm gems I am leveling, need one more. :)

Also, I'm using the Unique, The Searing Touch, as my weapon of choice.

Same staff i'm using for a similar templar, although at this point plan is to focus on casting spells myself, but will see what I decide to do as I go.
What do you guys think about cutting a bit of defense/damage in order to have a second totem?

Just starting to use a firestorm totem myself, and it seems really good for scouting, and can even take some hits for you. The damage seems good as well. So a 2nd totem might add a lot more damage?

Also, the extra strength could be helpful for reaching the req for that unique helmet (has like +25% fire damage) that I may look into getting. Also, higher levels of totem support.

Okay, next revised build:



With this one, I drop the nodes to Nullification, and the 2 EVA+ES nodes beside it (28%EV+ES and 20% ES recovery). Then I picked up Body and Soul and 3 AR+ES nodes beside it. Got additional 15% ES recovery near CI.

Basically, I think I may be better off with some armor. Basically getting +44% AR+ES and 15% recovery instead.

If you guys have any tips, I'm all ears. I'm currently level 43(?) and have less than 700 ES, but all I need to work out is the links on my staff and new gear and I think I'm all set.

im running the same build but im only lv 15 but one thing im concerned about it mana...since the builds really have no mana regen are we gunna be relying on our gear for that..or maybe clarity? idk

Well, I currently don't run any Mana Regen on my gear, and it works fine for me. Mana regen scales on your max mana (% max/sec) so + mana will help you out as well as increasing your pool. Also, The Searing Touch helped me ALOT at early levels. I would consider finding one. I'm (relatively) noob, so I plan on using this for a while unless I find a combination that will exceed the damage I get out of this.

As I just picked up CI for the first time last night, it feels that after respecing my points from the old path I was taking, I went from maybe 350 hp 400 ES to less than 700 ES. Now, I haven't tried CI previously to this, but I think I might respec out of it and put nodes into extra max life. This will allow me not to just rely on ES, but to also look for + life on gear.




This is the respec version without CI. It grabs the various Max Life nodes along the path I had already taken. Also removed the points out of Elementalist and extended the Celestial Walker branch to get Amplify. My main skills are Fireball, Firestorm (various forms), Fire Trap, and Ice wall. Fireball might be doing less damage, but the additional AOE radius should help with keeping mobs into the mine/trap I have set up.

Still looking at comments. :D

I'm now ~45 on Act 2 Ruthless. I can tell that I am having a lot of problems with defense regarding ranger enemies (archer mainly). If I'm getting jumped by 3+ I pretty much can get spiked down if I can't mitigate some damage with Ice Wall.

I've resorted to scouting with totem at all times in order to not instantly get into a situation I can't handle. Once I make my way to double totem I may look into parties.
