The reason End Game sucks in almoast every ARPG
When you play a game with a new character - you get new things all the time, you get new skills ect. I call them "Steps". You need those steps in order to make any game exciting.
When you get close to the END GAME content you see less and less of those STEPS untill you hit a wall. Most of the people quit not becouse content sucks but becouse they can`t reach the next step. In order to make re-play ability of the game as high as possible you need to constantly add those steps becouse if you don`t - player base will hit a wall and quit. Basicly that was my number one reason why I quit diablo 2 and 3. Not becouse it sucks to run the same area over and over again but couse you never see the next step (or it is too far away). I hope DEVS understand this. Becouse this is the main reason we play ARPG - becouse we want our characters to become a little better every now and then, we need to feel that we grow. Thats the main reason people play this type of games Everything else is secondary. |

I'm fairly confident the devs know about structuring a gradual and surmountable challenge. One of the measures they often take to this end is to add new skill and support gems to the quest rewards you can chose along the way, as well as tweaking the drop rates for Uniques that are meant to be commonplace staples of certain types of builds :)
Not that more cannot be done, but i'm rather sure they are well-aware of this issue being at the core of the genre ^^ |

DEVS add a lot of skills gems ect. but thats adding steps to the game not th END GAME. And I was talking about as many steps as you can make.
For example I am lvl 81 and I didnt found any upgrades for around 3 weeks. And thats whats stoping me from playing more. Not the same content not bad map drops but becouse I just can`t wait for 3 weeks to find one mediocre upgrade. My last decent upgrade was around lvl 73 and thats sucks I see no steps in the near future for myself. PS Dont tell me to go and make another character - becouse thats not what I am trying to bring here. Last edited by PvNKruger#2406 on May 6, 2013, 2:39:07 PM

endgame should be worked like they did on The 4th Coming
once you reach the endgame you can keep leveling to get stronger or decide to reborn and then you have to select some minimal bonus like +fire or cold or lightning power and then you respawn at the start, at level 1 and gotta do the game all over again but you are now a special being (an angel or demon in T4C) and you got some special quest unlocked once in a while 1st reborn lvl 70, second level 75, 80, 85 90, 95 you also got Reborn-only items ZiggyD is the Labyrinth of streamers, some like it, some dont, but GGG will make sure to push it down ur throat to make you like it Last edited by Sexcalibure#7575 on May 6, 2013, 2:40:22 PM

" This is how building an ARPG works... You can't keep finding new gear every few minutes in a game. The developers can't make enough content to build a system like this... So we each reach a point where we feel we can't improve. Then we move on. I guess if you view this as a problem that needs to be solved the trick would be to give players more to do with their gear. |

I sugest making ure character grow every 24 hours played, eventualy u wil be a giant walking around in wraeclast, im sure that wil satisfy u.

In d3 I was actually upgrading every now and then but only due to AH (that was prior to para lvls so the economy was much better untill some point) and that kept me playing.
You don`t need to find new gear every day but you need to feel its close. If you look at how the game progresses untill lvl 80 (I guess for me it was when I felt the wall) you will see that untill then those steps are perfectly made but somehow around that point it gets nasty. |

So u are trying to say that hitting a wall at lvl 80, when current content is aimed at lvl 80 to be endgame, is a design flaw? I feel you bro, i feel ya.

It doesn't help that even at those levels, you can't really expect to 'trade' for upgrades regularly. If you try to, it is because you farmed currency for a ridiculous amount of time and then you sat in trade chat for similar amounts of time.
I don't know if you play HC or not, but HC makes a world of difference for end game playability. It is one thing to be an adventurer at higher levels, but it is entirely another to be a farmer. Unfortunately most games like this one force you from being an adventurer into being a farmer. "There is no adventure in the familiar." There is no comfort in the unfamiliar.
