Trading sucks because Divs aren't valuable
There is no inherent value to a divine orb.
Divine orbs do not help any character while leveling to endgame. Randomizing already existing stats in no way helps anyone unless you are way late endgame min/max gear, and then it's only used on certain items. Divine orbs have no value other than it being the required item to use on trade site. The fact that divine orbs are rare doesn't add any value to them. They cannot be used themselves to improve your character. With no inherent value the divine orb is useless. How is this a "currency" ? A currency is something that has inherent value. Money has value because you can trade it for items you want, much like trading divs for gear on site. The difference is that money is backed up by gold. You can trade money for gold and gold has inherent value also because you can make things from gold. Divine orbs have nothing backing them up, and they don't help your character, so where is the value? The truth is nobody wants divine orbs. They only want the items you can "buy" with divine orbs. Divine orb is fake currency it has no value. This is the main reason poe trading tanks every season. Last bumped on Jan 26, 2025, 12:25:22 AM

1:244 currently so.
Even when League will start, 1 div will be already worth 250 ex. You will see. Trades in Early Access will destroy League's economy |

The current game is begging for a launch day wipe.

" EA will get its own server at League release. With that I am expecting trade2 website database to be reset fully to start fresh. |

" That was always going to happen. |

" It probably needs to happen sooner. An Early Access is supposed to hook early suckers and keep them there, streamlining them into full access - by which point they've already become full advocates and will buy supporter packs and other MTX. Those fish will pull the hook out of their mouths and swim away, though, if they feel like they can't participate in the game's economy due to rapid inflation. Or, in the case of SSF, droprates are so miserable that they'd just rather not play. |

" You are wrong in your assumptions in so many places that I don't even know where to begin. - Value is always subjective, there is no inherent or objective value. - No currency in the world is backed by gold. It is backed by strength of respective economies, mainly. Or rather by belief in them. - Money is not for storing value through time, it settles debts (which is my personal take since science has very hard time defining what constitutes money). - divine orbs can be used in way that is not related to exchange or value. " You don't know where to begin because you are uneducated. - Value ... the regard that something is held to deserve; the importance, worth, or usefulness of something: "your support is of great value" Value is indeed inherent. Something has to have value to be considered "of value". Divine orb has no inherent "value". - All currencies in the world are backed by gold. Again you are very misinformed. - Correct, money in today's standard is a way of storing account. That money is backed up by actual material gold. You can use money to buy gold. Gold stores over time. - divine orbs are not used by anyone but endgame players min/max their gear when nothing else to do, how does that add any value to players who are not the 1%? |

I am not interested in perpetuating this discussion with someone who clearly does not know the subject matter.

" no its not m8, the $ the £ etc are all fiat currency they are not backed by gold. not that it matters because gold has no inherent value either. i can make things from gold... ok, i can make things from dirt too, i can make things from rocks that i can just pick up from the floor for free. we have decided gold is more valuable than those rocks because we decided it. you said nobody wants divines, but the opposite is true. ggg didnt tell the community to use divines as the default trading currency, they made a game that has a ton of orbs in it and the players chose divines as the default trading currency. we decided we wanted divines. poe trading doesnt tank every league. I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)
