" This is literally the most important time in the game's history to give feedback. The direction of this game is quite clear and if not adjusted for the masses is going into the niche realm forever. I want it to be much bigger than that. To me that starts with Experience point penalty. It is 100% time for it to be gone from ARPG games. Any game for that matter. There are already infinite ways we are being punished when we die. This layer of setback in a video game is not worth peoples time. Not the masses. We are not all no lifers/streamers. I am and I do not like the game. Yet I am trying to give feedback and help its future, however bleak. PoE 1 is the best. PoE 2 is something.

"Hard and punishing doesn't necessarily have to include wasting your game time or level progression" kind of yes, but it CAN. does not mean everybody will like it, people are just used to get everything for nothing in this genre of games. IMO take diablo 4... 1 hour new season playtime = full gear, already pretty far into the endgame, no more challenge besides bugged endboss, done.. SUPER BORING, LAME and STUPID DESIGN LE.. the only consequences for dying is loosing the reward.. LAME TL.Inf.. after a few hours in an meaningless boring endgame.. LAME POE1.. after a few hours campaign you get to endgame and grind your way up to whatever your goal is.. FUN POE2.. after many hours of campaign you get to endgame (still is not even half of coming contend) and grind your way up to whatever your goal is.. I am play a melee warrior level 95 with total 7200 hp and 60 Armor all resistance 75%
,plus 75 full Block Rate and Enchant my necklace with 10% of HP damage to mana loss time to time ,One shot died by mob anyway(specifically those Expedition mage mods) not only you,its total unbalance shit |

" Everyone dies to one-shot time to time. The point is that with the right build it is not too frequent and thus not stopping you from progression. Also lvl 95 is a proof that your buil is going well so far. |

" Ah. Unfortunately, I can't relate to that since I don't play Diablo. I've reached 100 once in POE 1 and I still enjoy the grind and boss killing even with full gear. I don't find it boring. I just find it less stressful since I don't have to worry about EXP gain and lost. You can apply the "braindead" comment if it's POE 1. But here in POE 2 they already have 1 portal system and removing the juice from the atlas map makes it already punishing. I think they did a great job on that and should be flexible enough to adjust the EXP Penalty. I have a few friends I invited to the game but only to find out they leave because they were intimidated by the XP penalty. Bummer. |

Sadly that is looking like the majority of the player base. Which is why there are so many of these posts. Losing 315k players this fast is massive red flag. That is well over 50% now who paid 30$ and said no thanks.

shall we not with the meta discussion about the validity of someone expressing how they feel about a thing? the devs dont give a shit, they will either take the feedback on board or dismiss it themselves. its just a waste of time.
ive never felt like this in poe2 because ive never got a really high character yet. what i will say is in poe1 if im mapping on a char whos 98 or 99, if i die i will almost always log out for the day. im done. i have something called adhd which on a technical level is caused by my brain being unable to produce enough dopamine. i feel emotions strongly and i have a harder time letting them go than most people, its a symptom of adhd. so make of it what u will. when i die in poe2 in the 80s i feel quite bad. the 1 portal is fine, the losing the map and content is fine, and i would be fine with losing the xp in the map. i would hate it but those aspects are like fuck lol, god damn it im an idiot, smile, laughing, aghhhh ok we go again boys. the 10% xp loss is like living rent free in my head feels bad, like fuck i fucking hate this fucking game, fuck this shit. thats how that bit feels. 90% of my deaths in poe1 and poe2 feel like bullshit deaths, they do not feel fair its just im instantly dead out of nowhere and maybe a slow mo replay we could see for a fraction of a second something but in the moment its impossible. im just dead and it feels completely out of nowhere and bullshit. i defended xp penalty in poe1 for 12 years and i still think xp penalty must stay in poe1, its the only way to make death matter in that game and as bad as it is its better than not caring about death at all. but i would be lying if i said i felt differently when i happens. if i die at 98/99 in poe1 thats it, done, im logging out for the day and im not in a good mood. i might not come back to the game for weeks, im just gonna go do something with my hobby time that doesnt make me feel like that. thats honestly how it is. " Which is still "total unbalanced shit", no? Armour is nonexistent when it matters most, while gracefully agreeing to work on trash mobs you should oneshot anyway. Moreover, honour damage in sanctum is scaled from total received damage. |
