The Best Feedback i can give you GGG
This game is on the verge of sinking and i have seen so many games taking the wrong path and not acknowledging what userbase wants ending in a bad way.
When you listen to too many people you might get confused, you should just look at facts. Facts are your userbase is not happy on the direction this game has taken, and the usual people who say "its early acces it will change" the answer is: NO it wont change, because this is what devs want. So this is concerning, unless there is a huge spin and complete overhaul from developers this game is just a poe 1 reskin with a niche playerbase. Here are the major points who will completely decimate the userbase and you will see with time how much the player base sink unless you fix this litterally now (because its really hard to win back a grumpy userbase): 1) XP loss on death. This mechanic needs to seriously go, its completely pointless, adds frustration and doesnt add anything to the engagement, fun, game, experience. Most of the deaths are caused by oneshot mechanic or on death effects which again...should be looked at. Keep ignoring this issue and your userbase will shrink 2) Ask anyone who played first day EA release on december where and when did they have fun? Majority of answers will be "act 1 (campaign in general) when i had to think how to fight the boss, the thrill of surviving the thrill of finding a better item and adjust my build". No one will tell you they have fun blasting 2 screen of maps with a single tap of a skill, its BORING, we had that for years on poe 1 and you have 5k players peak on that. Not addressing this will just push this game in the same niche spot it always been. 3) The abysmal difference between Campaign and Endgame mapping/bossing, its a huge concern because its like they are two different games, especially for the aforementioned point 2. You advertised poe2 to be different, slow paced, instead we found ourselves into another blast 1 tap aoe madness with 0 interesting things, instalock freeze on bosses that gets deleted in 10 seconds flat.. why did you even spend money to develop the same game you had it working? (poe1) 4) Crafting is completely random, no interest in it, you have no power do create or decide anything, the amount of currency this game has is insane and yet everything is left to RNG..Might want to do a couple of developers table here to understand where you want to go, Its in a state where d4 crafting is way better (enough said here..) 5) Visual clusterfuck on screen... do i really need to explain this? Just do a t15 breach and check urself. 6) This game completely pushes away people because it doesnt explain anything about game mechanics, it does not introduce you at things that are very important making you waste currency. There are so many things that are unexplained that it would take me 1 month to list them all. When you do mistakes because you do not know things (not because players fault but becuase devs failed to put players in a condition to learn their game) you disrespect people time, because once they accidentally learn that something could have been done differently without wasting currency or time they will just get pissed off. 7) this is also related to point 6, why do i have to read a manual to understand how this game works? There is zero clarity on how things works in game, a lot of hidden stuff, as i said on point 6 there are so many, i will just give you an example: why there is absolutely no indication how anointment works? You might want to take inspiration to some game like lost ark (codex) or other games that explain the actual game and what you can/can't do, or where you can farm stuff. 8) inventory space...just wow. I get you want to sell tabs, but why a bow takes 1/4 of my whole inventory space? we are in 2025. You guys are professionals, how comes these basic things are ignored? do you really think that interrupting a player doing a map because his inventory is full and making him going constantly to the hideout is a good choice? Im pretty sure you can charge us for more inventory space and we gladly buy inventory space tabs... but please add it? come on. 9) i feel like im completely repeating playerbase complaints since years about poe 1, which is concerning since this is poe 2, you basically brought over all the bad things you could and that never got fixed. Im quite drained by this game already, its so concerning and so disheartening to see all these issues never fixed, to see majority of my friends instantly quit when they realized this game is just more of the same (poe1). I had my monk sitting on a quarterstaff i found and randomly slapped exalted plus chaos at level 51... im level 92 and i couldnt get a better staff if not for 40 divs... what kind of economy/progression is this? I have 400 hours on ea if you are wondering. Anyway probably this post will be ignored like many others, i guess we'll see you at player count in some weeks, and we'll see how well this game will go without these changes. im really wishing you all good luck, i have been on the other side of the fence working for games, it is always a backlash ignoring your playerbase. Very true! Great post
most of the complaining post mainly talk about endgame flow that is too zoomy and punishing, so i guess lots of people are aware about this issues.
I hope GGG will implement something drastic on the next EA league....i hope |

" Don’t hold your breath. I wish the same but these guys have a track record of being unbelievably stubborn and self assured of the correctness of their “vision” |
" True but I have a feeling that their vision (at least initially) was to actually make poe2 slower and more methodical and thats why they decided to keep both games actively supported. Things just got out of hands due to complexity and interaction between Varius systems. Question is if we can still tone down the endgame without rebuilding mechanics from scratch. If not there is no point in having poe1 supported anymore - Just a waste of resources. I wouldnt mind if all those zoomy builds are nerfed to the ground next season if that would bring the exprience closer to what acts 1-3 offered. |

+1 some good summary here in the post that a lot of folks brought up

Agreed.
There is no point in wasting all that money making PoE2 if you end with PoE1 again... And there is no point for the player to invest time and money in it too. |
+1 Even poe2 website brings you to the poe website.
it's a reskin and I feel like there was a massive bait and switch. |

Yeah there's no more slow-and-methodical in the endgame, although I realized it in Act 2 already.
Even in normal Act 2, you get a taste of the "WTF did slow-and methodical mean again?" already with the beetles. Then the game really slams it in your face on the Dreadnaught, when every pack is a swarm pack in tight spaces. From Act 2 onwards, we know the game is designed for fast, screen-clear, one-shot gameplay. Slow and methodical is just inherently incompatible with the swarms this game is based on. GGG really need to make a decision on this. For slow and methodical gameplay, the monster numbers must be reduced to fewer (and a lot fewer) monsters on screen at any given time, with more room everywhere for maneuvering (which is required for methodical combat). It is simply not possible to make slow and methodical combat with swarms, unless every class has easily accessible and reliable crowd-control that can be built into everyone's kit. |

" at this point it was clear you should not give suggestions because you dont understand why some mechanics are in place and why they are needed. Last edited by Pl4t1numX#4325 on Jan 17, 2025, 11:05:40 AM
