" One of the core requirement of a MMO, is to be able to see and interact with the mass amount of players on your screen, for PoE the max amount of players per town instance is 32 players, and that's not massively enough compare to other 'MMOs', to be called an MMO. Another one is that the game world has to be persistence, in PoE's case it is instanced. There are many Online Action Side-scroller RPGs out there that can give this example; eg. Dungeon & Fighter.
