Could we please have a SSF solution similar to the last Epoch's Circle of Fortune?

GGG would probably never do this because player have the ability of migrating the character out of SSF if they wish, although EHG solved this by tagging the item not the player. So one can leave the faction to go to trade but then they have to earn points in that faction in order to be able to trade more stuff. Only the highest rank of Merchants guild gets to trade all the good stuff. Runes and glyphs are not tradeable. Your earned faction is account wide though which is seen as a bonus for those that play a lot.

I do play LE, CF... but I don't think that's a viable approach for POE 2 right now.
The fundamental problem to be solved for SSF in POE 2 is the crafting system. So long that it is not minimally deterministic, then more RNG generated loot won't solve much. I am in Act 3 with a 100% melee Witch. Believe or not, it is doable enough but the wall that I often face is not the boosted unbalanced game-play but the inability to craft the most basic gear for my level. e.g.: resistances. EDIT: If I would be able to choose a system from LE to be ported to support SSF, it would be "Idol System". Meaning, customizable extra slots in your gear that can only be filled with non-craftable "idol" items. There are a lot types of idols... but the most common ones are for resistance fixing. In late game, once you have fixed your resistances, idols also enable unique build variances... [e.g.: to summon different type of minions; like fire wraiths instead of basic one]... but at any time, in a pinch, they give you some flexibility on character customization. Translated to POE2, a bare-bone idol system would be something like: * Adding few extra "charms" slots * Allowing charms to have passive effects [e.g.: for residencies] Last edited by Lord_Arami#5382 on Jan 13, 2025, 10:11:49 PM

It doesn't need CoF style mechanic imo. In PoE I don't really feel the need to trade because it is pretty well balanced to SSF.
PoE 2 ssf just feels slightly off currently, partially due to lack of crafting and partially due to the lower drop amounts. I'm hoping they buff tiered drops, add more crafting mechanics, and make the existing ones (like essences/omens) actually viable. |

I don't think there will be any changes in SSF that are different than the Trade league.
I don't think GGG wants to encourage SSF because of their economic model. Think about it, GGG makes its money from the sale of outfits, and stash tabs. They want players to visit hideouts to trade so the player can see cool hideout decorations that they can buy for their own hideouts. Same with outfits and weapon skins, premium tabs, etc. This is another reason they have players deal with the crazy trade mechanics. Sure it's for "friction" but it's also a way to get players to interact and see the stuff GGG has in its store. |

I would love that idea, but i don't think it will happen.
I play only trade leagues, but i try to play semi-ssf in them. I make my own builds, i try to craft or find my gear. I usually just sell stuff to get currency to craft stuff for myself and buy hard to get uniques or bases that you can't target farm in a reasonable manner. I use trade mostly to skip some time of the mindless grinding part, not to cut the fun experience part (if that makes sense). The problems i see with your ideas are: - no friction, no selling of microtransactions - no trade, no need for 100s of tabs - better game in ssf, no one would want to get into trade league - you need to balance "economy" for 2 modes not 1 (loot drop rates, league mechanics etc) All in all i believe if Poe was a game that sells hard copies it would be here already, but if it has the buissness model that it has, it won't really happen. And with selling the hard copy it is difficult to deliver seasonal content cause who is paying for that. So i think it is a lot of money issues mostly with what you want. |

Yes please trade is so bad.

I wish there was a mode of the game that was designed to be a great experience without trade.
Unfortunately GGG is kinda stuck on SSF being super duper extra challenge mode. Pandering to players who don't want consequences for their mistakes is a perfect description of what went fundamentally wrong with D3 and 4.
If they wanted mindless mobile game time waster gameplay they sure did make some perplexing choices and marketing statements for 6 fucking years. |

The Last Epoch CoF system is pretty neat. I like it. I don't think GGG will really implement it, since SSF characters in the current design get migrated into trade league. That being said, maybe CoF will encourage GGG to find a new design, since Last Epoch seems to have encouraged GGG to implement some instant buyout systems in trade league.

" Wouldn't a simple solution be to not allow this transfer? |
