" with just a little cast speed on gear i actually think i solved that problem aswell.. but yeah its probably not so kill speed effecient as some builds, though its undoubtably ALOT of fun to play :)! My current build is going on the 98% fire resist using a staff theory.
Now, rf burns you for 100% Searing touch makes that 170% 60% from tree 30% from IF for a total of 260%. Lets say i have 12k life. (my build will probably surpass this amount). 12k*2.6 = 31200 With a 98% reduction this is 624 fire damage per second. However my tree gives me 8.4% life regen. So 12000 * 0.084 = 1008 so even with extra burn provided i have a ruby flask up i will outregen the burn Damage to enemy: 6000*2.6 = 15600. Assuming the mob has no fire resistance (as you kind of should to work out your max possible dmg... 15600*1.5 = 23400 Getting a base of a 5k EK is not a problem on any 6L staff. However if you do it on your 6L searing touch when RF is active you get a 1.7 multiplier. 5k * 1.7 = 8500 8500+23400 ~ 32000dps. You could try and overkill this even more with some playing perhaps. 32000 dps is seriously more than enough, 1million is not at all required. However i suspect that this character he proposes is very squishy. Mine has 12k+ life 30k+ armour when granited 7 endurance charges 85% all resistances with 98% fire resist. YES! if i run out of ruby flask charges i cant do this AND/OR half regen, no regen and lower max resist maps i cant do this. That's why you have a normal 6L staff on your weapon swap which has a 5K (possibly more) EK on it for those tough times... I remember telling people im going for extra burn on an rf build and everyones like "naah man you cant do it it's suicide..." ASAIK my maths is solid and the burn will not affect me as ill still outregen it due to 98% fire resistances. |

" sounds like a quite funny build :) regarding the squishyness my char has 249% es + 20% more (ci thingie), which is reasonably high :) I know that u dont need 1,3mill dps, but it could be fun to see how many seconds it takes to kill high end map bosses etc. |

Jesus I can't be bothered to read through 11 pages, did the guy actually post what this 1.3mill DPS build was?
EDIT: I thought about it. It seems pretty possible using some napkin math. Let's say a perfect gear total glass cannon RF/PA build can get to 200k DPS on FP (40k tooltip x5 GMP). Then you add in a totem, let's say this brings you to 250k. Stacked curses and EE and some more damage from crit weak and projectile weak could be a 3x damage multiplier, bringing you to 750k.
