Polls aren’t reliable for anything

Especially when you post it randomly on the internet and think you will get anything that is conclusive


All you are doing is making something for people that do want to respond, respond

Also with polls randomly thrown on the internet, what’s stopping someone from responding multiple times with a vpn? Or multiple accounts?

Showing the results also introduces bias(like YouTube polls where you see the results leading people to just answering what’s most popular, not necessarily what they think)

Polls also have leading questions that are biased with the person who created them

Polls are good indicators no matter what you personally think. This also obviously isnt a scientific survey and its also not supposed to be that.

Whats stopping ppl from botting the poll? Nothing - but why would anybody do that? Also if you actually do that for whatever reason its just sad. Btw. people cann also give fake answers in scientific studies and you can do nothing about it.

You next point makes absoutely no sense since that is how every survey or even study works - you cant force people to take a survey so there always will be some bias but the bigger the numbers get the better the results will get.

Your examples are loaded with "problems" and arent neutral at all. Your poll already tells me that all of these are problems YOU have with maps.

By listing flaws, the question primes people to think there must be issues, even if they hadn’t previously considered them.


What does "1 not an issue, 10 big issue" actually mean? Are people rating the maps overall, or just the specific ones?

I know several maps that are great and several that are absolutely horrifying.
(not due to anything you put down here though)



And wheres any positive answer as well? You cant just list everything "negative" about them and expect this to be taken seriously.

I never said im not biased - obviously i am - nor did i say the questions were perfectly made for a survey - im doing this in my spare time, this is not a paid job.

Yes captain obvious - i as a gamer making a survey in my spare time as a fan am biased - also yes this isnt a survey up to scientific standards and i didnt invest days of work to generate the best non biased questions and answers ...

The results if lots of people take it are good enough to be general indicators - thats it.


Nobody is stopping you from making a better survey, and also nobody is forcing you to complain about a random survey not beeing perfect and according to scientific standards when it neither made to be that nor ever said its that.

No im just annoyed by spam/trolling since i actually at least invested some time in making this in my free time.

There is no point in criticism when its in regards to things that should be obvious to anyone at first glance and its rather peointless to start a general philosophical discussion about polls in general.
I never said this is a scientific poll, i never said im not biased or that the polls results are absolute. At best they are some general indicators as long as nobody - for whatever sad/weird reason decideds to mess with the poll with multiple accounts.

A couple of additional issues with the poll.

You switch between 1 and 10 indicating bad or good increasing the likelihood of an inadvertent mistake by the poll taker thinking, as it should be, you applied the parameters consistently.

In your question about the trials you drew the wrong conclusion stating the mechanics were not an issue when the result was 7+, indicating increased "bad" sentiment.

The posts suggesting your questions were largely leading, meaning biased toward the negative, are also correct.

I'm sure you could search some basic tutorials to improve your polling for the future.

Yeah that came to my mind later on - but thats something i cant change afterwards. I also actually wanted to do some things differently - BUT - i just use the free version which is way more limited and i also never used this site - i also thought about enabling comments etc. but honestly that would become more and more work - i actually like to play the game more.

I know how to do scientific studies/polls - but as i said i never wanted it to be that and this is a thing i do in my spare time - so im not gonna invest lots of time into it - sadly the times when i had way more spare time are long gone.

I never ever said that this is a non biased survey according to scientific standards - so whats the point of 2-3 ppl constantly pointing that out?

As i said - if you really want to do a non-biased in depth survey - be my guest - i ll be the first to take it.

This is not how a poll works if you want actual information. Some of the questions are leading questions. The answers are sometimes even leading. And you're putting in personal ideas into the poll.
You also switch from 10 being the best to 10 being the worst. And at the questions about difficulty suddenly 5 is the best.

You should've followed a 5 or 7-point likert scale with appropiate naming of the options.

By posting it on this forum you're also more likely to have responses from people who don't like the game.

There's a reason polls are done by big companies and employees that have impressive resumes. It's difficult.

I appreciate the effort and I've done the poll. But I wouldn't hold my hopes up that GGG will do anything with it, because the information is completely useless.

Edit: I have to say that I'm impressed with how positive the answers are.
