The things you hated the most about the Game/Design - POLL
Its interresting how ppl find the Trials harder than the temple of chaos.
Do the trials get harder later on or is it about the length. To be honest i think the Trials are easier if you dont get the most awful debuffs. |

" Personally I prefer ultimatum because managing my hit points and playing like just another map with some downside feels easier to manage than honor. And I think a lot of people struggle with last trial boss from what I saw at least + lenght is indeed a bit hideous. Literally no one asked for Sanctum in PoE 2, Ultimatum might have overall better reputation as league. Besides trials being that long can get you some nasty afflictions if your room rng is bad. In ultimatum u have more control over how u might eventually die or not :D That's at least my personal take on it. Now about thing I hate most that isn't on poll the lack of gear balance in terms of stats between Normal and Cruel. Getting stats in cruel like +15 maximum life or +10% resist is kind of a joke. The only difference between Normal and Cruel gear is just added "Advanced" making the name on ground more long and hideous. If they wanna still balance game around trade, then SSF should have more drops/vendor items that make sense for part of campaign/lvl you are currently in. The suffix/prefixes rolls can't just start from the very bottom on Cruel just like in Normal Act 1. Grinding whole day in hope to improve at least one part of your gear you have been wearing from Act 2 -> Act 1 Cruel and still seeing stats on "Advanced" item like those awesome +15 life is just a bad joke. twitch.tv/unik0rnu

The various pools of death, that you can't see, are too harsh.
The debuffs in trials are too harsh. -40% damage is a MINOR debuff? Fook right off. |

How do we see the results?

After some 400+ hours in the game, there are 3 things I completely dislike:
1. The game being build and balanced around trading. I don't want to reach T15 maps before I can finally enjoy some good loot. I want to drop stuff as I play. I'm no stranger to grinding for better gear in D2, but spending 7 hours with 50% drop rate in Cruel Act 1 maps only to come out with the same gear I went in is NOT fun. Nor rewarding. I did drop a few regals and exalts, sure. And they gave me "advanced" X or Y item with 3 Tier 1 2 or 3 mods instead of 2, if I'd have stopped at blue quality. That's horrible. 15 to life or 8% to one elemental resistance on, again, Advanced gear should not exist. Leave tier 1 through 3 resistances, life, mana, defenses and %increased damage for Normal difficulty. 2. Overuse of ground effects. Everything's spitting cold, fire, lightning. And if not spitting, than wearing auras. And time bubbles and mana vacuums and, oh! don't get me started on chaos damage via volatile plants or from the cultist archers in Act 1, normal difficulty, where your only chaos defense is... a direct connection to the First Ones. Underuse of defense stats. Why give us armor if it does next to nothing when it matters? or evasion for that matter? 85% chance to evade, but, plot twist, everything around you uses slam attacks or gianormous tornadoes. So instead of 5 defensive stats, you have 2. Health and Energy Shield. 3. One-shot mechanics. Or any other mechanics that are more likely than not to kill you (like the Sky Seer's tornado). Hell, even Jamanra's storm is nasty, when your character gets aim-assisted out of Asala's protective bubble. But arguably the worst offeders here have to be the River Hags and they spammable drown bubble. Even more fun when you have a group of 3 or hags next to each other, one with a volatiles or slow bubble modifier. Aggorat is the only true offender with the map layout. Reminiscent of D2's Act 3 one, where the Waypoint or the TP spot was waaay out of the way of everything. Same thing here, with the waypoint being bum-f**k in the middle of nowhere. Grim Tangle was insufferable too, mostly due to too many dead ends. A bit unpleasant was Hunting Grounds as well, especially considering monsters can cheat and leap over obstacles no traversal skill can get us past. And there have been a few scenarios in which the fight area was obstructed from view by random assets. I mean, sure, you can reposition, if you can. But not knowing who's shooting at you brings us back to other unpleasantries from PoE1 days. Which aren't completely gone, mind you. Tendril Sentinels can use their long range "slam" tendrils attack long before you can see them. The stun brutes in the same Ogham Manor can hit you through walls. It's a mess. But these things can be fixed, I guess. The Ascendencies feel a bit... weak, in some cases. Chayula Monk comes to mind, with not much chaos there and definitely no(t enough) passives/skill/weapon support for that specialization. Rangers have cultist bows and poison quivers to go with skills. Monks... have a "hi5!" skill and that's that. On the plus side... Hmm... I liked the VA and most of the boss designs. The atmosphere is alright. But it isn't fun to just scrape by in a pretty area, with the thought that if you work long and hard and make it to T10+ maps, the game will finally be rewarding. Or just more punishing if you didn't make good use of the Trade system... And funny enough, judging solely by Act 1 and 2, you'd think gearing up won't be a chore. But then again, you only have access to a few tiers of affixes in Act 1. Which you'll probably keep seeing all the way to the end of Cruel, with the very, very, very rare drop/craft of an item with 2 or 3 good mods out of 6 (with the other 3 pretty much rendering the item worse than a ilvl 20 piece of gear). Inventory management is fine, mostly. I wouldn't mind the horadric cube to be a reward for all classes, not just a special bundle in the warrior's ascendancy. |

This is a great example of how NOT to write a survey. Many questions are leading in nature, and quite a few of them are pointless.
For example, you have one labeled "IDEA: Subfolders on the right" WTF does that mean? Or how about "Having to teleport out and teleport in trough 2 portals to store items in Trials" Huh? Way too many questions to be useful in any way. |

" Sadly the site doesnt allow me to directly share them. Im updating the results in my first Post in this topic whenever enough new ppl did the Survey. (its hidden with the spoiler tag because of length) |

Polls don’t mean anything and are full of bias unfortunately

Btw. Updated the Results. " Polls are great indicators. Not sure what your problem with polls is. Yes there will be bias by the questions, answers and ppl taking it but its still a good general indicator. Also how else would you get more reliable data on how ppl feel about aspects of the game? " You do realize i just did this for fun, for free and even getting the results in a readable form isnt doing itself. If you want a more professional survey nobody is stopping you from doing it yourself. Im doing this just as a hobby since i like the game and think general trends arent bad to see how ppl feel about a game. No i didnt sit 5 hours to get a perfect Poll - but thats also not the point. Yeah maybe i should have made that more clear - i just meant Subfolders on the right of your storage where you now just have the top Folders. For example: Top Folder: TRADING -Sub Folder: 1Ex (in a smaller text) - either always show them or do it similar to Windows Do you really not understand the second question? If you teleport out of the trials you are forced to teleport back into the trials with the waypoint - but you dont get directly inside but have to open the trials again -> go trough portal -> then you are in the trial room where you have to pick the next room again -> Portal --- so i meant it would have been nice to be able to directly teleport in and out from the trial room or from the room where you directly go into a trial map. Edit: Updated the Questions by adding a note for those 2 questions. Last edited by _N0ctus_#6387 on Jan 11, 2025, 8:05:29 AM
