The Passive Tree should be the same across all classes.

In all situations where it is possible, there should be no differences in the Passive Tree for a class versus any other.

GGG has stated in livestreams that things are coming back which will modify the tree, and as such things which are minor in scope now may not be so later. The principle of the tree is that everyone can meet there, and that a build is defined based on how you traverse it. Witch alone should not get minion buffs on their spell nodes, it should be shared across all classes. This is one location where changing from PoE1 should not be allowed. The tree is sacred.

I disagree I think its fun and unique that you have to plan your tree differently depending on what class your playing.

What would in your opinion be the upsides of a shared tree?

I can understand why it might be interesting at face value, but I don't like that it softly pushes a "this class is for this thing" narrative by baking it into your choices. Just having you near nodes for it is enough to tell you what you are most likely good at without trying.

I think one point that you might be overlooking is that if the tree was general for everyone then in alot of cases it would turn out that the best build would be the same for all classes.

For example as soon as someone figured out the "best minion" build then the skill tree would be the same for all classes that wanted to play that minion build. While the way it is now if someone makes a good build with minions or some other skill and you or someone else want to try and make it work for your class then your skill tree will be unique so it makes for more build variety in a way.

i have to disagree, was trying a cold sorc but i'm having a great time playing a cold blood mage.
In addition, this is a step forward compared to Poe1 classes early state (when ascendancy wasn't a thing), i think it gives a better class identity

An ability to build around ascendancy tree nodes without being beholden to weaknesses present in the first 3 nodes/levels of gameplay simply because they "Add to the class fantasy." The fact you have your subclass after trials, the fact the first thing you see is minion, curse, and spell nodes from the start of witch surrounding you should be enough to establish the identity without robbing a paltry amount of minion damage from the sorc, for instance.

I disagree. This is a fundamental design feature of the game. The more exotic Jewels like "From Nothing" and "Controlled Metamorphosis" do a fine job illustrating it. Their power doesn't come from the raw +stats written on item itself, but by influencing the Tree in a way that permits otherwise too costly Passives to be allocated.
Yeah, but no.

Would make classes obsolete, so no.

It won't happen

Classe difference is where they start and their ascendencies, but the tree should be the same for all. This feature from PoE1 didn't need to be changed.
