How about removing white items drops completely?

And then selling them in town. This would help a lot in not needing a loot filter and it's honestly not very fun to be in search of white items anyway.

A more extreme idea would be to remove pretty much all item drops and only have currency drops, then sell white items in town as mentioned earlier. This would absolutely remove the need for loot filters. I would prefer this but I imagine some people like finding items immedietly.

Edit: To clarify, you could buy endless amounts of all white items in town at the highest available tier for your level.

...or remove all item drops AND all currency drops, leaving just gold, and NPC will sell unified gear so nobody can b*tch about bad broken economy, bad drops, bad loot filters, bad RNG...

:D

I just managed to get enough shards to make 1 Orb of Chance after all this time, yet here you are trying to take away my 1 chance to become rich and powerful.

Shame on you :P .
I like finding white and blue items as bases to id/augment/regorge, to eventually regal and exalt.

Buying them would break the whole grinding gear aspect needed for crafting.

You never played PoE1 I assume. White items are here to stay, high item level bases are and will be a big part of crafting and trading, even though it is EA and there is currently not much use for them, it will gradually change.
I can understand the desire to not want to see or deal with white items.

Unlike, say D4 where they are a useless waste of space, white items in POE 1/2 can be quite important for crafting.

Getting the perfect base item to start with helps tremendously. Not that I did/do heavy crafting in POE 1 but for sure some.

My alt-o-holicism is flaring up so not yet end game for POE 2, still helps so far to find the right item to craft upon.

Once we have decent item filters they will be a non-issue, and, of course, anyone who wishes can manually set up an item filter now.

White items are actually good though, especially for SSF.

When I run a T18 map I pick up every white item incase it's an iLvL 83. Orb of Alchemy or just upgrade.

They're also required for orb of chance for target farming uniques.

It's also trivial to setup a custom filter to hide all white items.

The economy would be fine if they finally added a AH. Like every other game out there.

- So you can not have scammers posting items for low prices. Hoping to buy out new player unlucky enough to think that's the price of the item

- Whispering players that don't ever respond. Because they busy and the price they get is to low anyway. Try to scam ppl in selling it low. Or have already sold the item.

- Loot can be sold on the market for gold, as in, your white trash can be a standard item to buy for gold like a NPC. But the stock is from players actually selling it TOO the NPC. No one selling it. It no longer in stock. And no morons selling White Heavy belts for 1 Exalted. Also, making buying up all the stock useless as you can only sell it to a NPC for gold.

- Make it possible for ppl to loot filter harder and not see the bad drops. As the lower level players will NPC sell it anyhow.

- less IRL money sellers for items. As it's on the AH, and no other way to sell. Unless you for example in a guild. And in a guild for at least a week.

- maximum nr of ppl in a guild. And making leaving a guild put you on a CD for a day or 2 before you can join a other.

Solved a lot of problems there with that AH.

You would find more currency with my suggestion though, and not have to go looking for the white base to chance.

You would have to grind the currency though? I'm not suggesting it should take longer or shorter time than it does now to get good items, just that you wouldn't have to see white drops everywhere cluttering the screen.

Then there's a few posts who didn't read my post. I'm not saying remove white items, you could buy endless amounts of them in town. You would just not see them drop. Imagine exactly as it is now, but instead of the zombie dropping a white wand it would drop the gold needed to buy it in town.

I have played PoE 1 plenty. I'm not saying they're useless, I'm saying it's boring to look for white items to pick up and it clutters the screen. They've said they want the goal to be no loot filter necessary, it will never happen as long as white drops exist.
