Remove Mighty Silverfist from maps
Have a look a this screenshot someone sent me of a tanky warrior getting oneshot by Silverfist in HC.
![]() 13k armor with crit resistance in passive tree, 3.8k life. And yet he got oneshot in a small arena in which is hard to dodge him. If he couldn't tank it, no warrior in HC can tank silverfist who uses life and armour build. Completely trash design. Remove this boss from maps until you rework his damage. " Armor / ES or Armor / Eva. Pure Armor is really tough. GGG needs to tone down on quite a lot of monsters. But the Monkey is a cool boss. Rampage IGN : Cool_Hamster

He is a badly designed boss, specifically that one roll attack. It is a multi-hit attack that interrupts and stuns. ES doesn't fare any better here since there's practically no tell on the attack.
Unless you can perma-cc this boss, the only way is to go into hyper defensive play after 50%(?) when he starts doing the roll attack. You incessantly roll to one side every time he makes a slight move in case it's the roll. It's a badly designed boss because the only way to make sure you can dodge this attack is to assume every attack is this attack and dodge every attack immediatly. Unfortunately, he also has wind-up one-shot attacks that can catch you on the dodge recovery if you're just dodging all the time. Sure, I assume someone with really good eyes and a great high refresh rate monitor paired with an expensive GPU doing 200fps would be able to instantly see this attack when it actually is coming, but most players probably aren't going to be able to reliably determing when this attack is coming. Despite all the issues with Silverfist....this is more a classic case of not understanding how Armour works, and how the tooltip PDR is misleading.
You did NOT have 88% pdr against his crit, or even 75% against his normal attack. Far more likely, you had less than 33% reduction or even essentially none at all. This is an ARMOUR PROBLEM, not a Silverfist problem. That illustrated PDR is only ever remotely true against basic, white mobs. And even then.....it doesn't tell the whole story. Starting anew....with PoE 2

The problem with all the hard-hitters is armor itself, not the boss design. Armor works less and less, precisely when you need it to work more, at an even more punishing rate of return than POE 1.

" Being able to understand how armour works will not help you tank this boss. Nothing will. So remove Silverfist until armour is fixed. There's no reason for hardcore players to keep losing characters for trash design. |

This damn monkey is luck base fight for melee class. It's already a pain in Act 3 for some build that still lack dps.
Roll have no wind up and use on bit of random interval. The roll itself deal multiple high dmg that can easily kill someone not tanky. This alone is more than enough problem as game design. More so with QC that let this move pass. His pillar slam deal highest single instance hit in the campaign. While this move have good wind up, but tracking, long reach and a bit wider aoe than act 2 boss slam make it's quite poor one. Slow in, slow out cuz I'm just a player.

" I mean...that's exactly what it'd help you do. Or....maybe you aren't meant to tank him? Starting anew....with PoE 2

Monkey attacks generally slow and very clear directional, just roll behind him all time.
Yet there is also map version of Blackjaw, this guy is insane one-shoter, I so scared of him, i just never do his boss maps when on leveling. Last edited by le_souriceau#5005 on Jan 3, 2025, 2:52:38 AM
