How many maps were you dying in? That can, obviously, have a pretty negative effect.
What did you run that 600% waystone on? If it was a dead node with basically no towers or bonus content to increase mob count then you kind of wasted it. A map boss node is a great option for a 600% waystone.
I assume that 600% was the result of a vaal orb?
The only people I've seen complaining about sustain are those on the forums. Everyone in my guild and friends list are having zero problems. All of us are doing basically the same thing (some prefer to use deli + vaal instead of just relying on map bosses, some are using breach to get more mobs to kill, etc). But we're all doing the same basic thing, high waystone drop chance on quality map nodes.
I cleaned about 75% of my maps. I redid my atlas, didn't work. I juiced my waystones with exalteds and vaal orbs, didn't work. I was forced to purchase maps until I ran out of exalted. Now I'm not trying to get a solution, sorry, I've returned to Settlers since I couldn't play it properly due to lack of time.
But my take is: if the intended funcionality is to ban people for playing T15 maps if they don't juice their atlas and their waystones for a very high % waystone drop, GGG should be blamed for this "funcionality" and not the players for not applying it

Agree...Why even focus the EA particularly on end game as they said, "we don't want to make the mistake of focusing on the campaign and not on end game and end up like the other losers", while gating everything about the end game and making sustain of end game maps garbo tier even with the atlas points. I am only on T8 right now but feels like the game doesn't drop maps even with all atlas nodes.
Also I am a necromancer do not know if that is tied to anything.

That's your problem, you are failing far too many maps.
Even with a full atlas and map boss atlas complete a 300% (raw) quant map should give at least 3 maps. Map boss nodes are every 4 or 5 maps. If you are failing 1/4 maps, you are going to run out of maps of that tier.
The game is screaming at you that you are doing content you can't handle. The problem isn't waystone sustain, it's you taking on something you're not ready for yet.
You need to analyze your deaths, it could be something as simple as a couple waystone modifiers that you (or your build) can't handle. Just avoid running those.
Otherwise it may be a flaw in your build, or player skill, for that you just need to drop down a couple tiers until you are able to improve the situation.

While you should have gotten at least one map from the boss, that drop chance is still quite low. You want 300 BEFORE you go in the map. Depending on your atlas tree that waystone could have been under 100% waystone chance easily.
The ONLY juice that matters for waystone drop is waystone drop chance. Adding more monsters/rares gives you more spins, but it's the waystone drop chance that is important. Item quant doesn't matter, rarity doesn't matter, only waystone drop chance.
Share your atlas tree and maybe there's some tips we can give you.
this is my atlas tree:
i dont have more points yet cause im not able to get t15 maps.
and all rarly t14 i get was just "lucky". got them from fully juiced t13 running intimidate, corruption bosses with delirium. then i maybe got 1map.
yesterday i had another run with 440% waystone drop.
and i only got 2 maps in an t14 intimitate +delirium +corupt+boss map. and these two where t1 and t5 ;(
i have the feeling i get more waystones running these stupid ascendancy trials, to maybe someday get my last points, then running fully juiced maps (SSF)
but anyway thanks for helping.
Your picture cuts off on the bottom, but I think it's good enough for our purposes.
Unstable Energies (top right) is a keystone that can help a lot, when it makes suffixes 25% higher that also means more waystone drop chance.
Rares drop more stuff, so I like to have rising danger and twin threats.
I can't tell if you have High Road, but if you don't you want that.
I don't believe Deadly Evolution directly affects waystone drops but it does help rare drops overall, and the small nodes around it are more waystone drop chance.
Local Knowledge I think is meh, but if SSF and you are targeting specific items then it's good. I'd respect it any time you're not doing a node in a target zone (gold should be easy to come by at this stage).
I like waystone modifier effects over the tablet buffs, but I know others go with the tablet ones and enjoy it.
to be honest right now i dont trust these waystone extra dropchances at all.
i was running plenty 400%+ maps and didnt find any waystones, killing all mobs and bosses, and also opend all vase and other clickable/destroyable stuff (which brought me a lot in poe1).
i have right now the feeling i get the same amount of maps running just plain wait maps non juiced than full yellow (alch +2 ex) maps with 4 towers with extra waystone drop, intimitdate, deli, boss, corrupt...
thats so wierd.
and the thing is im playing bloodmage ssf, so im ultra squichy glas cannon, dying on my own. making the map more dangerouse result in dying often so yeah i probably have to wait for some patches before i can continue playing ;(

Take the atlas node giving higher tier waystones off and you'll get better sustain

Just to make sure we're speaking the same language, when I say 300% I mean on the waystone itself, prior to going into a map.
I changed my tree around a while back and immediately felt the lack of drops, ran it for a while and waystone drops were definitely worse. I put back some of the waystone sustain nodes and been comfortable since.

Failing 25% is failing far too many maps so I deserver not sustaining my T15 drops?
I assume you are trolling, so let me ignore your posts

Bricking 1/4 of your maps is way too high. You really should lower the tier you're playing at until your gear improves.
Also, make sure to be aware of which waystone modifiers are dangerous for your build.

No, easier to just say the game is broken than to admit that the problem might be a little closer to home.

It's not your fault, its a flawed design. You are wasting your time trying to fix it. How many games did you play where you weren't able to PLAY just because you didn't manage correctly all of these things? (passive tree, juiced waystones...)? You know the answer: ZERO.
So let's take a look at the five states of grief:
1) Denial: "It's just a phase, they will drop"
2) Anger: "WTF, why I can't get enough waystones in this f*** game"
3) Bargain: "Ok, maybe It's just my fault, I'll try to fix it" <-- you are here
Just tump to the Depression phase (4) so you can reach the last one: the Acceptance (5) that the endgame is extremely unbalanced and flawed in terms of playability. Then you will move to other games meanwhile this is fixed.
I did it and, though I still came here daily to see if GGG say something new, I'm happily playing PoE1 and investing my time in more productive task. It isn't a problem, since I'll play later when the game is more polished
