Can confirm this is happening reportadly, not only on here but on poe1 too and supposedly people have been banned after getting hacked though that sounds a bit suspicious.

I've seen this happen before with people suspiciously staying in your hideout for a really long time without leaving and I'm not sure what exactly they are doing so I wouldn't be surprised. It doesn't give you any option to kick them out of your hideout either.
Hackers used to do a similar thing in Runescape. They would stalk your character and they wouldn't even do any social engineering or anything. You just sign out and sign back in and everything in your bank is gone. They just somehow are able to extract information/data from the server. If anyone has this happen to them they should contact support and have them look at the logs on their end. Your own logs show SOME info but not everything. 🔷🔶🔰🌀✨Standard>Leagues✨🌀🔰🔶🔷

i think i be hacked this time, because i cant see any on logs, no trades, no log instances, one thing before my gear disappeared i exit game in my ho, but when i logged back i spawn in town instead my ho

" People aren't getting banned after being hacked, although parsing the distinction is beyond a lot of people so it's easy to see why this claim is circulating. If you contact GGG to tell them your account has been hacked, the very first thing they're going to do is the same thing just about every other company would do: they're going to lock your account so that nobody can access it. Think of it as having your credit card stolen: you call up your bank and they're going to IMMEDIATELY freeze the card while they work on getting more information, to mitigate the damage that can be done with the stolen card. As for why this is done in a game like PoE, that's fairly obvious: if someone were able to access your PoE account and loot your items, what's stopping them from using your various levelled characters to bot-farm bosses? What about looting your guild's stash, or joining different guilds and raiding THEIR stashes under your name? Locking the entire account is the only option which makes any sense. The account will (eventually) be unlocked once GGG can determine that it is no longer compromised, but some people don't have the patience to wait for a few days when all they want to do is play videogames so they get on the internet and start posting in allcaps about how they've been banned from PoE because their account got hacked. |

Right now this thread is just an alarm thread, you haven't provided anyone with information to prove your claim. Earlier in the week people were claiming it was 3rd party tools that were the cause of the hacks. Before that it was GGG's servers were hacked.
If you have evidence, best to email it directly to GGG. If you want a discussion topic about it, it should be in the discussion topics section of the forums. This section is for providing feedback about the game, not speculation about theft. |

" You're right, it is just a warning. That being said many people have one issue in common : a suspicious trade offer, it doesn't go through. Player leaves. Next login they are cleaned out. There was also the imgur i posted above showing someone ending up with another players login as well as the 6 year old reddit post where this happened during POE 1 accidentally. Step 1 is to self reflect.

" The picture posted has nothing to do with what you are describing. That was a session tracking issue on the website that let them see the players account, but did not let them login to the game with it. A problem yes (and perhaps could have led to a bigger issue if exploited) but very different from in game access. That issue, according to the quoted email, also only occured during a maintenance window (when some things get changed and/or turned off). |

" If GGG locks your account for reason such as this they will notify you. If they ban you all you'll get is an email stating you breached TOS. People getting banned for RMT and then saying they got banned for using a different location to login.. yet I do that all the time while I travel.. just does not make any sense.
