We need Real Crafting

I'm new to poe but out of the 3 aRPGs I play this game has the most disappointing gear, loot and crafting I have experienced. My merc, the act 1 boss dropped a weapon that I used until the end game, I never got anything better.

There's obviously a lot I don't understand yet about this game but surely poe1 is not like this?

The loot has always been the worst part of this game.

poe1 has the best item system in the history of arpg games, and the only real problem with the item drops in poe1 is that there was far too many of them.

It has the best 'systems'?

So you agree. The loot is bad, and they needed systems to make up for it. Thanks for the comment.
God, don't ask GGG to make a new system for crafting...

They'll require 19 parts that come from 19 different T16 bosses in order to get a chance to make ONE Ilevel 1-80 item that can have 1-6 affixes and for the small cost of your first born and 10 years of your life you can also have a 1% chance to have an implicit.

We don't even have "real crafting" in PoE1. It's just "less" shitty and RNG.

But yes, real crafting would be lovely.

Easily the best crafting system an ARPG has ever had. Even if GGG just did a straight up copy, I wouldn't be mad.
Yep and reason that GGG is looking at outright bans in certain countries due to constant nature of gambling in game.

No - FATE has the best item system in ARPG history.
Fishing was overpowered, but damn I was always excited to pick up a rare.

I want to be able to craft stuff like this. Loved poe 1 crafting and hate the new one :P
Presumedly POE1 crafting was too complicated and couldn't be implemented into POE2 due it it missing a broader audience.

They are clearly now aiming at people with a gambling addiction instead.
I presume the reasoning is that those people are more prone to pay for things indiscreetly.

What they made was not a crafting system, it's a currency sink, and anyone with half a brain knows it.

They didn't try to make crafting work -and if they did, whomever was responsible should be fired.
Just give us a simple crafting system where we spend currency to add a suffix/affix of our choice at tier 1 with random roll and upgrading the roll range costs progressively more resources and higher tier resources and rerolling an affix value costs currency based on the tier it is currently at.
Lets people work towards something certain, it's simple and it gives people a clear goal "once I get X amount I get stronger" rather than praying to the casino.

For all I care keep the orbs in the game for gambling addicts and for the unfortunate souls who want to trade.

Also, I wouldn't mind if GGG "takes inspiration" from other aspects of LE either... like every single item having an implicit.

... or having more common items with only level restrictions. I get this is not directly applicable... but there are certainly some options.

e.g.: Just have armour, energy shield or evasion based gear [not mixed ones, like evasion/ES] and then allow to add either of the three defensive layers on anything by crafting and having enough level + ability points.

So, if I have an armour based helmet, I could add ES if intelligent enough or I could add evasion if have enough dexterity.

Assuming an item is limited to have only 2 defensive layers, this [or similar] approach, would generate equivalent amount of defensive gear as currently but needing less base items.
