lets be real. stop talking about poe1.. no ones going back to that game

As a solo player you are completely locked out of meaningful crating options other than buying a halfway decent items for cheap and yolo slam a chaos orb, making the item worthless 19 out of 20 times...

It is ridiculous how the only source of semi-deterministic crafting is locked behind insane rarity and prices so that only organized teams/RMT discord can afford it and have acces to.

The game is great but if crafting stays like that there will be no longterm desire for me to play it. Solo players have to have acces to meaningful crafting and that is hopefully the case on release.

Before that happens i will come back to poe1 with a smile on my face.
I'd for sure go back to PoE 1 as soon as the new league starts. I love it so much more than Poe 2.

this is ggg and poe1 and poe2 are extremely similar.. NO ONE is going to go back to poe1.

that game WILL die. even if they dont want it to. it will.

POE2 actually brought tens of thousands of new players to poe1

I plan to play both.
If I am going to drop one of them I will drop PoE2. Why?

- Ascendancy trials. (Delete Honour please)
- Crafting Flexibility
- Not rewarding, too punishing
- Extreme stat requirements

I do enjoy the combat and bosses of PoE2 a lot more. Like a lot.
All the work that was put into that really REALLY paid off.
If anything I actually think they should up the difficulty on the bosses.
More difficulty, less punishment. The only thing I want to lose on failure is my time. Never been a fan of losing access to fighting a boss just because you failed. It only encourages players to look up guides to protect their investment. Both games suffer from this, though it is a bit more painful in PoE2.

With the current state of endgame, and lack of overall flexibility does not leave me be wanting more. Those things will get better over time but its not there right now.

Right now, PoE2 is like Wolcen.
I really enjoyed the campaign. Played that had fun. Touched the endgame and stopped.
I'll never forget Lambda. One of the best Acts I've played through in an ARPG.

----
Really looking forward to the next PoE1 league.
While the combat and bosses are not as good, at least it will be nice to be allowed to have fun again.

I mostly play ARPGs because of character building/customization and an interesting, fun endgame grind. In my eyes, PoE 2 fails a little bit at both - ESPECIALLY compared to PoE 1. Blasting through maps on a self made "creation" in PoE 1's endgame is a feeling no other game has ever given me.

Don't get mw wrong here, PoE 2 graphics are nice. PoE 2 boss design is nice. And while I like mapping with my Monk, the endgame is so severely lacking as of now that there's more happening in tier one maps in PoE 1.

Another thing I like about PoE 1 that PoE 2 is sort of missing, is that PoE 1 throws TONS of problems at you to solve, with a lot of different solution, especially defensive ones. In PoE 2? Stack AR/EV/ES to the end of days, with almost no interesting mechanics.

Nah, PoE 2 can be a better game than PoE 1, that's for sure. But as of now? Not even close in the endgame.
Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

i can fully support that take. but i think this endgame was rushed and they will fix it. the base game is a good one.

I agree.

I never expect a half-finished EA product to be better than a game with 10+ years of tuning and adding content. In my eyes, that isn't (and shouldn't be) a fair comparison. PoE 2's days will come.

If anything, I hope a lot of the people who want this to be more like PoE1 get bored and go back to it.
I'm enjoying this a lot more, though it's clearly very flawed and still unfinished.
Never played poe1, I'm a new player to poe2 EA. After playing over 200 hours into poe2, I decided to try poe1. So far I'm enjoying poe1 a lot, honestly if poe1 had WASD I don't think I'd have a reason to play poe2EA until the full version is released.

I have only played the endgame in poe2 up to T13 and it's just boring, so I'll continue my journey in poe1 while GGG works on poe2. As a new player to this franchise of games I'm happy they didn't pull an overwatch and delete the old game. :) I have had a ton of fun in poe2EA and am having a blast in poe1.

Poe2EA has caused poe1 to gain a new player. I hope people go back or give it a try, because imo it seems like a great game. (I'm only in early game in poe1)

It's refreshing to see people who haven't played PoE1 and aren't unnecessarily trashing it for reasons I don't understand.
