Manifesto clarifying the direction of PoE2?
" Honestly yes. I have my doubts if they can actually pull off a slow and tactical endgame. I don't really see how it meshes with their idea of an ARPG endgame with running maps over and over. You cannot be that engaged in a repetitive activity without getting burned out. You also need to feel progression, and that means speeding up and becoming strong. I think it's eventually doomed to become like poe1 endgame. Last edited by AnimePillowCollector#2255 on Dec 27, 2024, 12:35:37 PM

" I also have my doubts and really hope they won't try. In this fantasy manifesto, they have to clarify if PoE 2 is a game where they want players to come back every league and grind hundreds of hours in the endgame, like PoE 1. If not, fine; make it slow, methodical with huge zones formed like mazes. If they want players to come back every league to spend hundreds of hours grinding the endgame, it needs to be snappy, enjoyable and a little bit more... "Streamlined", in lack of better words - just to hinder burnout. Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

Bump. I would love to hear that too. Right now, campaign is good as gold. I'm not sure about the end game though.

" Not sure why you would assume this. First time playing an ARPG with an endgame? PoE2 is a great tutorial for PoE1.

Theres only a year of interviews outlining this already. A year + maybe.
Step 1 is to self reflect.

" So what I said was not meant to be negative. I use DeepL as a translation tool ( German ) and it's not always easy to get the tone right. If that sounded condescending, I apologize. Yes, it's something that doesn't suit me, so to speak. But I think PoE 2 has done a good job, especially for players like me. I still enjoy the campaign and playing around with the classes. (I still think the respec is too expensive at this point though). I'm also very happy with the amount of content I got for my 30 Euros. Who knows, maybe I'll grow into the endgame. On the other hand, I like to play other games as well. In any case, I'm looking forward to seeing where PoE 2 goes. |

" If I use this same logic. I'll tell you that There's already hundreds of hours of fun in PoE1 if you prefer repetitive grind over gameplay, what is the negative here if they make 2 different games for 2 different crowds? I understand though, everyone want more of the thing they like. Now, To take a step back. Perhaps I'd be fine with god-like power if its at the end of the journey. And by journey I don't mean just the campaign, but the end-game as well. After beating the hardest pinnacle boss, then you're rewarded with 1-shot zoom zoom powers to grind & ruin the market as you wish. At this point I've enjoyed all the contents the game offered, so then there's no problem with mindless destruction just to feel the sweet taste of power. That doesn't sound so bad I guess. Perhaps the real problem is not the power progression but how badly the curve was implemented, such as the abrupt loss of any meaningful gameplay as soon as we hit T1 maps? " XD Don't apologize. We're just sharing opinions and feedback. Good, bad, it's all fair game, and exactly what early access is for. Actually, if it's not clear what a player should do in the endgame, that's really good feedback. |

" 5-15 days? These are ass-pulling numbers and you know it. More like 3-6 weeks, which is perfectly fine. At least people WANT to return, and they WANT to spend hundreds of hours in every league. I hear A LOT of people not willing to do that if map sizes, map layouts and certain map mechanics stay the same. And even 5-15 days would be better than that, ey? 500k playing for 3 weeks is better for them than 200k playing for 4 months. Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.
