Monk BELL needs a serious nerf. Melting Viper Natuatzi rapidly at 30% health.

I was going through some of my videos finally and this reminded me: I feel nothing is as imbalanced as the Bell for the monk. In this video my other skills seem relatively balanced. Nothing too exceptionally powerful and the bell is the absolute all star taking out 30% HP at the very end. But it is a similar situation for just about any boss iMO. Even knee deep into Cruel.

context: Self found gear, self made gear. Nothing too OP. even nerfing myself by not using any exalts on my weapon so i can enjoy more meaningful boss fights. want to enjoy the content as much as possible.

Viper boss fight first try:

was a very fun boss battle but a bit anti-climatic since maybe there was going to be another sequence for the boss? but the bell took her out too quickly at the very end.

Most halfway decent skills just destroy Cruel?

Even when you play suboptimal skills as long as you didn't brick your build (somehow) Cruel is just a joke.
For most builds the campaign is by far the hardest towards the End of Act 2 normal.

Bell feels broken... But not anymore broken than TONS of other stuff. At least using Bell needs a bit of effort, not much but hey...

Thanks for the footage.

That's quite interesting to see this.
Don't really pay too much attention to that usually, but your rolls slapped my face hard.
You spend so much time rolling, but most of the time you still eat the attacks to the face. Like maybe 1 out of 10 rolls were actually beneficial. And those successful one weren't even a reaction, more like all the others, random, but happened by luck to be correctly timed.

This gameplay (and it's not about you, there's a high chance this is VERY common) just shows me roll is a failed mechanic. You could have face tanked the boss (because in the end, you tanked most attacks), and be more efficient, your rolls made nothing but to make you lose time.
The bell is doing exactly what its supposed to do, if they nerf it to the ground there simply wont be any point in casting it as it takes time to cast the bell then from the time cast it takes time to hit the bell all of which are considered downtime until the first strike of the bell. On top of that when you are in a real pressure moment you need to make sure that you have good accuracy with the bell placement as if you fail to get it on the spot you desire you have more downtime until its cast onto the ideal spot.

Side note:

Stop dodge rolling so much and just whack the boss and chug your potions, only certain mechanics need to be dodged on most bosses.
Yeah idk, Bell is a nice skill but honestly so clunky to use it deserves to go hard one certain bosses, no? On other bosses you can barely hit it (Titan) or the boss teleports away all the time (Djinn) … it’s so trash missing a Bell and then being unable to place or even charge up another one, as long as you haven’t hit the current one 15 times to destroy it. Makes it kinda abysmal for clearing maps, too, because usually you just need to hit it a couple times to nuke everything around it, then you move on to monsters further away – but can’t place another Bell yet.

Also I feel Natuatzi specifically has a low stun threshold to favor melee; who would otherwise have a horrible time on that boss.
This is just a clickbait thread to generate views for your video. Why did the bell took her out too quickly? U have no clue about the power GGG intended bell to have. Neither do I. If u need more challenge, equip a white weapon from A1 or don't bell at all.

If anything bell needs to be buffed because right now, it's spawns wherever the **** it wants instead of where u want it to.

Until the Bell offers some form of synergy with the 'other' Monk Ascendancy, I refuse to use it.
Dodge rolling for no reason is just hurting you.
It's lightning orb on steroids with melee reach and a required secondary resource.

What did you expect it to do, not do a lot of damage? Why even have it then if it doesn't do a lot of damage for the amount of setup and risks involved?

Like are you going to be surprised when flicker strike does a lot of damage at 7 power charges and the chance not to use charges support?
