Stop moaning and crying that "ThE gAmE iS tOo DiffICulT" - it's meant to be

get it into your head - POE2 is NOT a game for casuals. It's not for people who want to play it 2-3 hours on average a day. This is a game that requires commitment, knowledge and skill. And it's by design.

The passive tree is supposed to be overwhelming. Skills and supports are meant to be complicated and require knowledge, research and thinking. The game is meant to be about hundreds of hours of grind to get that chance to shine and show your SKILL and commitment and the will be push further. And yes, it is meant to be "one mistake = you're out of luck, try again". That's what's challenging about it and that's what people love.

If you want an "ez game" - plenty of casual friendly, mindless clicking one button and pay to win games out there. Feel free to go there. This is Path of Souls, baby, we grind here and we welcome every death as a chance to improve ourselves.

You’re thinking of PoE1. PoE2 was designed for casuals

How much money do you think GGG invests in PoE2? Do you really think they have invested one million USD in a live service game just to be played and enjoyed by the tiny 0.5% of no lifers out there???

That would sure be their fastest road to bankruptcy :)
I play it 2-3 hours per day and enjoy it immensely.
Heh, sure, "it's meant to be". Thing is, games are developed to make money, or at the very least, make up for money spent on its development. And looking at poe2 level design, boss design (visual of course, not overtuned numbers) - poe2 is a very expensive piece of art.

And yet, it contains so many design choices going straight against the market, against the players, and against common sense. What "it's meant to be" in this state is repeating poe1 fate - only tryhard masochists would pay for THIS repeatedly every league, and grind 10 room ultimatums for a CHANCE of getting last ascendancy boss key. Or getting your first greater jeweler orb at level 70+ on your second character in league. Or put up with our favorite trade site.

If this was what GGG wanted all along, yeah, they did it. Hope porting more old league mechanics from poe1 to poe2 will keep them afloat.

lol, no. POE 1 was the game you could literally kill an act boss by drowning it in your character corpses

it's that 0.5% commited players that payed 999'999 out of this million. GGG will be just fine as long as they have backs of their most dedicated players

I'm fine with that as long as you don't cry over here or reddit that "the game is too difficult, I play 2h a day and expect to melt all endgame instantly!!!!"

:)
A prediction for you: You're likely to grow increasingly disappointed as development continues, possibly even disliking PoE2 by its official release.

GGG has a consistent pattern of starting with massively overtuned content and gradually adjusting toward what they consider optimal balance over time - that's a key purpose of early access. If you're genuinely expecting this to be "Path of Souls," you might want to reconsider that expectation.
Both games are "difficult" in their own way, but PoE 2 is a different "kind" of difficulty than PoE 1.

PoE 1 didn't really rely that much on timing and dodging. You could "out-gear" fights. In PoE 2, you can't really do that.

Personally, that's what I don't like about it. I prefer to out-gear fights rather than out-play them mechanically.
