Rarity stat is ruining this game.

No its not, just play the game and stop whining. Its a good method to get more gear and everybody has the same chance to add this Modifier to the gear.

Hell no. It's horrible as it is because playing without it is not viable. It's simply too strong.
Meh a other whiny post. You guys need to move on already. Crazy...I'm so glad they got MF in the game.
Rarity is only a problem when trade is involved. And then because of people's greed.
In SSF rarity is a choice: you balance rarity-power up to the point it still feels comfortable to play, or you can ignore it completely; up to you.

GGG's biggest mistake is not separating SSF from trade. SSF with rarity seems fine. For trade they'd need to balance it out to account for people's greed (greed compels you to go all in on rarity and flip the market).

But we all know GGG, they'll nerf rarity, making trade somewhat normal (for a time) and destroy SSF claiming it's your fault for choosing to play like that.
I doubt they will nerf it honestly. There's an entire unique item and soul core designed around it. I think the bigger problem here is that higher tier maps aren't rewarding enough. The fact that people with 800 mf can just derp-farm T10s and outshine currency drops versus someone doing substantially harder content with end-game tiered gear is the real issue. If you gate-keep the best loot within the higher tier maps, then it forces the tradeoff between taking too much mf gear and being able to clear the content. It would realistically work itself out.


The best solution would be to remove the rarity and increase the global rare-currencies drop chance and unique items, this is a bad practice taken from diablo 2 where it was all about creating an mf sorcerer, why inherit someone else's errors!

Wow a whole unique item and a core of souls, are you kidding me now?

The absurdity is that in poe 1 they removed the quantity, and rarity only works on the rarity of an item, and in poe 2 they added even stronger mechanics to increase currency.

Poe 2 turned out to be a very inconsistent game.
