The REAL disservice to all PoE players.

Fucking WASD/Controller support RUINS standard point and click ARPG play.

Everything auto-targets. My monk can't hit his bell IF MY CURSOR IS DIRECTLY ON IT. You should SEE Ice Strike. It looks like FLICKER. Even on large bosses it'll teleport to all different sides of them...I realize that 99% of my problems come from this. When my character goes wherever he feels like, I can't even ATTACK if there's degen or on death effects on the screen for fear the game will just warp me wherever it wants.

Point and click has been an ARPG staple since literally Diablo 1. You want to make the game more accessible for more people? Great! Don't fuck up the OG controls to do it.

They should have waited until January to do this EA at the earliest, because more and more and more people are going to see the cracks over the next two weeks. They deserve their Christmas/holidays, but they didn't have to give us coal in the process.

Edit: From what I've seen, controller has some major issues, UI is terrible with it, and keyboard/controller combined support is "coming". Like...it's a beautiful game, with amazing story, and cool moments. BUT...at the time, Super Mario Bros was all those things, but if you made me stick the controller up my ass and press buttons with my colon, it'd be a pretty awful experience.

Game is shit in and out but 2 day old accounts from transdad that migrated from their casual animal crossing gameplay will tell you it is good and you need to get good.

Auto aim feels so bad its ruining the Monk gameplay.
I want to hit the bell behind me in the center of the screen, so I aim at it, and it auto target a big rare mob that is in the bottom of my screen (still in the range of the bell).

WASD is not the problem, it's not be able to deactivate auto-aim. WASD is great, love it, but auto-aim... affect ranged too when trying to aim aoe attack on ground. I want to shoot/attack where is my cursor!

Another problem, while in WASD, you can't force attack (the toggle in skill menu don't work), that mean my char don't attack when my cursor is over an item. He try to pick up instead of shooting.

Need an option, to only pick up when in a specific range ? or add a pick up key.

Even without WASD it is utter shit. Mainly because the game was design around dishing damage while moving.

WASD in an isometric game is a catastrophy in any way shape or form. I can't remember the number of WASD isometric game I've play, none succeed, mainly because this kind of control suck.
WASD only works in fps and tps where mouse control the POV. It's as simple as it gets, aguing against that is just ridiculous.

I can raid in wow one handed just using kb and WASD. In poe2 you need to press two directional input at any time if you want a diagonal straff. It limits your movements like never and you can only go in 8 directions.

I am really out of words that I have to explain why WASD is shit, we are in god damn 2024 and acting like this is the first interface user we're faced to. This isn't 1980 guys. COME ON.

It's clear it was designed for a controller. Auto-Aim is awful. If I click with a mouse I should cast/shoot/attack in the direction I click unless I specifically click an enemy should it then target that enemy.

The game being "hard" (lol) is mostly due to a few things:

Can't see ish with so many mobs, particle effects, environment not fading, low contrast between enemies and the environment - basically screen readability is the worst I've seen in a game. Whoever designed this needs to work as a janitor, not a dev.

ODE - because of the aforementioned visibility issues.

Auto-Aim with KB/M - uwotm8.gif?

Tedium - because of all of the above, you move 100 feet up and wind up moving 75 feet back during encounters with packs of mobs to help keep the screen somewhat readable. Pecking/retreating is not fun when you are fighting 20 mobs, half of which are ranged with projectiles you can barely see that you can avoid if moving 100% speed or dodging, with doesn't leave you much time to use skills.

Overall the game is poorly designed -for combat- despite being a game where you should be having fun pressing buttons but instead you are working against -not the game mechanics- but the game itself.

This game gets in its own way more than any other I've seen. Incredible, actually.

I disagree, I love WASD and I played poe 1 for 5k hours. It is clunky because of the auto aim but it gives more control over your character, like WAY more control. I'll never go back.

Dude, you're allowed to have shittaste. Just don't pretend it is better because "you feel like it". When I gave you technical explaination why it is way more limited in isometric game.

You're trying to arg that 2D have more dimensions than 3D.

"I played for 5khours" Good I have 11K hours in PoE, about 20k in diablo franchise and more than 30k in aRPG only. Considering your only argument, I'm telling the truth and you are wrong by about 25K hours.
