Breach is a waste of time

Importing PoE 1 content basically verbatim and then going "oh no this game is supposed to be SLOWER and MORE METHODICAL" is pretty goddamn hilarious yep.

Devs need to answer some questions about the intended playstyle of the game.
There's a huge incongruity at work here with two skill types. There's skills that can be fired off at any time, some able to fill the whole screen with damaging effects, and there's skills that won't go off without a target. If your build relies on the latter, Breach (and Rituals) are overwhelming. If you play the former, you pre-spam and don't even see most enemies. Just sort out your loot and you're good. These endgame activities funnel players into mindless builds, which I'm told PoE2 would be moving away from.

It's literally impossible to do a breach even on a map far below your normal leave. hundreds of enemies spawn instantly and press against you so you can't dodge or even take any actions. Who thought that was a fun idea?

It's another victim of the inane move speed system where we waddle and every enemy sprints into you where your ranged attacks cant even hit.

The rings it's self expands about twice as fast as player characters can move, so you can't even try to position yourself at the start.

I think you have an overall good point on the game being too fast but I think your unfairly putting the blame on breach.

This is the identity of breach, its supposed to be fast, you open a breach and you kill as many monsters as you can in a short span. If you want to play a different build thats perhaps tankier but cant blow up the screen as fast then thats fine, and you can still do breach but you will be less effective or have to do it at a lower level then other builds.

The problem is that currently breach has zero competition for late game farming. It is so far ahead of the other mechanics both in terms of rewards and how its working.
So typically you would have breach being very good for fast builds with high aoe, and then you could have other mechanics like ritual that are better for slower/tankier builds. So the problem currently is more that ritual is a joke compared to breach.
only mechanic w decent loot (amount) cant wait for more recycled content.
Breach is the only good mechanic ported over from PoE 1 that hasn't been gutted (like essences, strongboxes) or is not a totally awful experience, like delirium & ritual.

delirium = monochrome vomit of mobs pushing you around and taking 3x the time to kill
ritual = closed into a small environmental trap of poo poo ground effects for zero rewards

Breach lets you tune the difficulty: if you can't kill fast enough, then don't rush into the depths of it. Though sometimes it is quite rippy right from the start and requires good chaos resistance.

If they nerf Breach than there's really nothing interesting to play on the atlas right now.

EDIT:
I forgot Expedition exists - another completely gutted mechanic.
When night falls
She cloaks the world
In impenetrable darkness

breach is the only good league mechanic currently in the game IMO.
delirium is ok

if you are struggling super hard in them then do easier maps while you get stronger.
Whats absolutely maddening is how I grinded an Ice witch till I finally managed to turn the build to clear at a good speed for this content and they nerfed it to not be able to do this content (cast on nerf)

So they basically said it was clearing too fast so they nerfed it but without a build that clear that fast, you cant do the breaches well at all.

of course, there are like 20 other builds that do clear it but they arent getting nerfed.

That really icks me. Its also why I still havent bought a supporter pack despite supporting them a ton in the past.

I find ritual worse. Here's five hundred enemies that all spawn in a 10 meter circle you're locked into and cuts your frame rate in half. Have fun.

Best yet they put a chaos effect on top of that and fit the ritual in the smallest corridor to drop the area further. Then award you with scroll of wisdom on clear and lvl 35 items for selection.
Nailed it, I'm playing a Stormweaver build but not a meta build. Everything for me is based on freezing and then hitting with comet and cold snap, both of which have to be targeted as they nerfed cast on freeze.

This means that while I hit hard enough I don't hit fast enough and by the time I have killed a couple of things I am swarmed and spend more time trying to survive than killing mobs.

Yeah I could just follow the "your build sucks" and use the same SW Archmage build everyone else is using, but copying a brainless build made by someone else is so boring I might as well just watch someone else play the game and pretend it's me.

At this point Breach is a dead mechanic for me and I am just ignoring them. The rest can now tell me to get good and fix my skill issue.
I actually love breach, its about the only mechanic I find engaging and fun, I currently wished they'd turn them up honestly.

But I'm just a Warrior boy living in a range classes world.
