Trading in PoE2 is an awful experience

"
they should add all trading to the currency exchange. Guild wars style auction house. where things go if they are listed. no need to go anywhere or whisper anyone. Plus bots wont be able to price fix by listing options for cheap.

Bots absolutely will be able to price fix, in game auction houses tend to still be taken over by bots. It just takes a bit longer for the tools to get going.

But it just won't matter as much because the general experience will be somewhat less miserable than the current "we hate our players and actively enjoy seeing them suffer" design.

IMO the real fix is to nuke trading entirely and adjust drops so that you're actually finding stuff, which is the core point of an ARPG. How this lesson wasn't learned from Diablo 3's debacle is baffling to me.
Who is going to be enforcing that and how are they paid?

It makes way more sense to just build an auction house system in that case, since you can't list an item you don't have and the rest of the transaction is automated.

The idea that people should hang around waiting to instantly respond to messages about market items and someone else should be enforcing this is absurd. It's not 1994: this entire process can be easily automated so its less frustrating for everyone.

This is just one of several areas where PoE2's design feels archaic.
I made sure to give POE 2 a negativity review on steam because of this garbage trading feature

Absolutely no need to have this garbage outdated cheap lazy system in 2024

They straight up copied and pasted the POE 1 trading system with no Auction House implementation.

In my Opinion this just proves that Tencent and GGG are no different to Blizzard they took the money and ran.
They should have item trading just like currency trading. You put the item in your sales tab and money is auto deposited into your stash. That would also fix price fixing, cause then they cant ignore you. Since its automatic.
The claimed crafting was a big part. They wanted us to make our own gear. I have never. I repeat never managed to craft a single piece I could use. So I go to trade. Now trade is so expensive an average player can't buy anything. So now I'm stuck at lol 84 using a level 66 scepter with the skill on it a level below what it should be? And an amulet that's not even close to what I actually need. I feel like Jonathan lied to us when he said we would be crafting our own gear.
