We Want / Need 6 Portals !!
" Why should they not? There is, I think, already a xp loss. Isnt that penalty enough? You could also reset map. "Damage" the map and reduce loot with each death. Why must it be that "its now gone". All I see is insults, concerns pushed aside. No actual arguments. My arguments here are that this allows no learning process and that there already exists penalties and also there are many potential penalty options that could be used instead that make more sense. |

+1 give me 6 portals. Boss map dying is probably the single worst thing in this game.

I mean... They can reduce it to one portal when they get the balance right. Monster balance, skill balance, class balance, gear balance and especially waystone drop balance. Boosting up maps through several towers just to lose your one high level waystone to a BS overtuned mechanic feels like crap. We already separate between HC and SC. Why we need to drag more and more of these mechanics into SC, is IMO unnecessary. And the death feels even more crappy as the maps aren't even that fun (too big with bad layouts). "You mean to say I've dragged my ass through this freakin' mace just to die to some BS, overtune, imbalanced mechanic? That's cute" " Because the windup/farming time for certain bossfights can be several hours, if not days AND we are playing softcore. Do you want the "if you die, you die" logic in the acts too? Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile. Last edited by Phrazz#3529 on Dec 18, 2024, 4:05:43 PM

" Why should you have 6 tries at a boss though? If you die.. you die.. Last edited by Anubis2108#3783 on Dec 18, 2024, 4:02:40 PM

" Because this is Softcore, not Hardcore. That's why. Hardcore mechanics shouldn't be forced onto Softcore players. That's just bad game design. It's actually crazy this ever made it out of internal alpha testing and released as-is in Early Access. |

" There is quite the difference on losing a single map versus losing an entire character. I mean, would you prefer everything died in a single click? No of cause not. It is about imposing a feeling of punishment if you fail. Without that feeling. Do you really think you would still play the game? |

" Yes, I would because my time would be respected. Why is this still an argument? Just make it opt in and give players on both sides of the argument the choice on how to play. Atlas tree is supposed to be the mechanism for solving this issue. Let us reduce the number of active portals per map in exchange for some kind of benefit and both sides win. |

" Yes, because I've played PoE 1 for over 6000 hours in SC Trade. I don't need some fake feeling of "tension" or "punishment" to enjoy a videogame. I despise the very idea of losing ANY progress from dying in a game. Even just the 10% exp penalty makes me want to quit the game in PoE 1. And oneshotting things and getting overpowered is exactly what makes games fun for a lot of people. Turns out everyone enjoys games in a different way. Don't take my word for it though, the steam numbers will say it all in a few months if GGG sticks to The Vision TM. It's inevitable that the game will die if they don't make massive changes. Forcing hardcore mechanics onto people that actively chose to play Softcore is the most insane design choice I've ever seen in a game in my life. It will drive away so many players if it isn't changed asap. |
