Evasion not counting towards honor in trial?
I have failed the 3rd ascendancy trial on the final boss 6 times now. I thought i was doing good with 2k honor, that it was just difficult... Then i hear my buddy talking about how he finished the trial with 5k honor... i was confused. "How do you have 5k honor" i ask. "Well, i read on reddit it is a combination of life and ES"... FUCKING WHAT?!?!?
Why in the world does evasion not count towards honor... WHY DO ONLY LIFE AND ES COUNT SO MUCH TOWARDS HONOR... i have 1.2k health and with 60% increased honor on relics, 50% increased defenses and 50% increased honor boon (Along wiht like 70% honor resistances), i was only able to achieve about 3.1k honor... I know the poison is bugged and getting fixed, but if i got hit AT ALL by the last boss's poison, it was over, i immediately lost 75% of my honor. Its absolutely ridiculous that only life and ES count towards honor when evasion is the third defense. There's lots of people that use it. Was it just overlooked? If i even get TAPPED by a dot trap (fire, poison) half, if not more, of my honor is gone when life and ES builds get a much larger buffer... please make Evasion count towards honor since it is one of the 3 defenses *Edit* Not sure why people think I'm "Going crazy over this". This is a feedback forum and im giving my feedback on why i think this should be changed. To sum it up so people don't have to read every single comment... 1) Based on me and my buddies discussions, i had 1.5k honor base as evasion, he has 5k+ honor as ES/Life build 2) GGG specifies that armor, evasion and energy shield are defenses. When you equip a relic that increases defenses, it increases all 3 3) ES as a defense increases honor, so evasion as a defense should increase honor. 4) Monster hits aside, if both build shave 75% elemental resists, and 75% honor resists, and both builds accidentally hit a few traps that take 1500 honor, Evasion build lost the trial, ES/Life build loses some honor, most likely restores it and keeps going. Why is the evasion build being punished with less honor for choosing evasion when traps don't care whether you have evasion or ES/life, they just take your honor if you hit them Last edited by Bornforexile#6932 on Dec 17, 2024, 10:54:18 AM Last bumped on Dec 26, 2024, 11:11:16 PM

Evasion (and Armour) both help against honour already, by avoiding or reducing the damage taken and therefore the honour lost.
ES gets more maximum honour, but doesn't avoid or prevent any honour damage. |

" neither evasion nor armor help against fire, poison, lightning, chaos, ANY of the elements. Evasion helps if something takes a swing or shot at you and makes it maybe miss, but when the whole point is not to get hit in the first place and they make all mobs have slow, telegraphed attacks so even people with no evasion can just move out of the way... your argument makes 0 sense. Why should only life and ES builds have such a larger buffer against ailment honor loss when armor and evasion do nothing for ailments? Last edited by Bornforexile#6932 on Dec 17, 2024, 9:12:14 AM

Evasion works against all projectiles and strikes, including elemental. Armour does only work against physical, of course, but it also works against area damage.

you are missing the point... fire on the ground, poison on the ground, traps... these are all things that are common in the trial. ES and life builds can avoid these things just as easy as evasion builds but if both builds get hit by these things, the life/es builds with 5-7k honor have a SUBSTANTIALLY larger buffer than es builds with 1k-2k honor.
You are only focusing on monster abilities when those only a portion of the trial. |

You shouldn’t be getting hit by traps at all. Dodge gives you i frames through them just fyi you can roll through fire

" " ES/Life are not the same kind of thing as evasion. ES/Life are part of your effective health pool. Evasion is a defence, akin to armour, or resistances. Last edited by XeonPOE#7768 on Dec 17, 2024, 9:23:45 AM

" No, you shouldn't be getting hit by traps. But have you done every single trial perfectly every single time? I would bet that 95%+ of people aren't perfect in trial running and sometimes get hit by traps.. so why should evasion builds be punished more (by having substantially less honor) for accidentally hitting a trap? " Incorrect... when you get a boon or a relic that "increases defenses" It increases armor, evasion and energy shield. By GGG's definition, ES is a defense. " So therefore life shouldn't increase honour? One is EHP, one isn't - it's quite straightforward. |

" Everyone has life, (yes, even CI builds have 1 life) it should count, not everyone has evasion, not everyone has energy shield. Why should 1 count and the other not? You sound like an egotistical fuck saying "It's quite straightforward" when it's not at all... |
