I've never understood these complaints.

The campaign is the game? If you don't like the campaign, what do you even like about path of exile? The game is "move forward while killing things." The campaign is literally a long series of maps chained together for you.

No, the campaign is the chore you do before getting to the real game. It is not the game. The endgame mapping system is 99% of the game. That is a fact.

you... don't think the campaign is the game? i'm sorry but i think you're playing the wrong game

Not really. GGG has expressed that endgame not the campaign is where they capture players for PoE2. The game will also have the exact same league loop as PoE1 where endgame is where people will spend most their time and where the league mechanics are most prevalent. This will lead to the campaign simply being a tutorial for the end game. Something for vets to just blow through.
Once the Campaign Is Completed, Just Thinking About Doing It All Over Again Is Discouraging

After finishing the campaign, the mere thought of having to go through the entire thing again makes creating a second character unappealing. You could encourage people to create more characters by rewarding them for completing the campaign, instead of forcing them to endure the tedium of repeating that same content.

I understand that a second run through the campaign is faster than the first, but that’s not the point. The real question is: is it truly necessary to repeat the content?

Why not create an option where players who enjoy the campaign can replay it, while those who don’t can immediately jump into the endgame with their new character?

For instance, implement a system where the endgame adjusts to the character’s level, allowing players to evolve their character directly through maps. After all, if the story mode is essentially a tutorial for the endgame, why would I want to go through it again?

For those who insist that the campaign is necessary, fine—give them the option to play it again without any issues. But for everyone else, let us skip it and dive straight into what makes the game exciting!

if your case is "Repeating the campaign is boring, let me skip that repetition, because i don't like repeating things, and repeat a different part of the game instead."

then you don't really have a compelling case.
Still on this? Is it even worth discussing anymore, it will never happen, and i mean NEVER, you can cry, you say you will stop playing, you can even say youll jump of a bridge, the dev always have been adamant about this for over a decade and still are, no campaign skips will ever happen. Period, end of the conversation, next question.

To me the problem with making the campaign dark souls is that people really only beat souls games a single time. I liked the campaign for what it is, but doing it each league seems like a lot. I know we'll all get faster at it and whatever - but your baseline movespeed until you get some good boots each league is going to really limit your ability to get through it quickly.

I made some alts, didn't take them far - but you can definitely juice them up fast with all the currencies you get on your main to really speed up progress - but that first char each league is going to be painful for me.

100% agree. get one character to beat the campaign and give us a 2nd leveled up character.

People have lives. as it stands i'd have to give up all my spare time to level up dif chars in poe2. I do not want to play 3rd and 4th characters in that case.

Ain't no way I'll ever roll a 2nd character because I'm not doing the braindead campaign ever again.

There should be some way to be able to complete it faster the 2nd time around. Maybe just make the final bosses from each act available and you need to at least kill all 3 in order.

poe1's horrible template doesn't work here. poe2's campaign for experienced players is about 5-10 times longer than poe1.

so leveling new chars on repeat is actually going to be a massive issue. most people will not want to invest 1,000 hours into an ARPG and it makes sense to not create poe2 as a ''no life'' game.

streamers don't have jobs. they sit on their ass and play games all day. the average human being has responsibilities in life.

Should be able to have a friend or Someone that can "RUSH" your quests to complete the campaign much faster.
Yeah lets skip the campaign and have 6 portals and have deaths be meaningless. So we can rush endgame and complain theres not enough content in endgame. You guys are pathetic.

I started a new character last night and was finished with act 1 in literally under 2 hours.
