Skipping the Campaign - Please
Whatever thing you skip to, maybe low maps, will then next be the thing you want to skip, until you're just given a free level 100 standing outside the pinnacle boss room.

" This "slippery slope" argument is so pointless and can't be used as an excuse to gatekeep simple QOL from players. No people won't ask for instant lvl100, and if there is a big enough part of players that really want it GGG could just make it a private league mod so people pay to make their own custom events with it lol I already only play 1 build per league in PoE 1, the campaign is giga cringe to run even with full twink leveling gear,50% ms boots,6-link,following a maxroll guide and only taking 4 hours to complete. It's still a chore. Ain't no way anyone is gonna tolerate this 40-hour snoozefest of a campaign every 3 months. People will get bored fast. Just letting us skip it after doing it the first time in a league would be fine. Not having to do your lab trials again on a new char is ok, you can just go do lab on an alt whenever you want cus it's unlocked already. So why can't we just skip campaign and get to the real game and have fun? Literally the only thing keeping me from trying multiple builds per league is the absolute tedium and chore that is leveling a new char+gems. This is why 5-way legion rotas are so popular aswell. People even pay like 20-30 divs for campaign speedrun carries cus they hate doing it themselves that much. It's a huge issue. So +1 to the OP's suggestion, campaign skip is badly needed. |

" "simple qol". it's literally a slippery slope dilemma where people will want more and more. if ggg give in to huge changes like this, people will expect them to give in to further demands and get angry when they dont. if you think it's a chore to have to play the game to be able to play "the real game", then i don't think this game is for you. |

I only play my own builds SSFHC and the campaign is so long I kinda can't see myself playing the game. In PoE1 you start making meaningful decisions in about 30 minutes of the game - in 2 it takes around level 25 (5-10 hours) before I feel like I'm even making decisions and playing the game, you have to invest in defensive layers so there's barely any decision making until level 30.
In PoE if I rip reasonably early you can pretty quickly get through the campaign and it's kinda fun blasting through it with gear saved prior. You can't do that with PoE 2. I tried just rolling a ranger as I'd dropped quill rain and a unique chest (should be super fun right?!) well no and it's the same slog, like 8 hours in and still only halfway in Act 1. Another failure in PoE2, its fun picking random gems and supports in Act 1-3 and frakensteining something that can at times massively outperfom the actual gems you want to use at low levels then switching later. 3-4 links come in about 1-2 hours and you can start experimenting with your build as you go. This also added some strategy to the ladder/racing if you care about that, i.e. switching between gems at LXX, spec'ing in and out of certain keystones for certain bosses, that seems limited here especially with supports. Game is prolly good for SC trade players or PoE career/streamer ppl but meh maybe not for me. Last edited by AmpegV4#2473 on Dec 17, 2024, 10:31:10 AM

While i dont like to clear the campaign multiple times too i do think it should never be skippable, it´s a journey, a progression you have to do with every new character and allowing to skip it would bring a miriad of problems, everyone would use the class with the best early game to clear the campaign and then change into the best mapper/bosser class in the endgame, everyone would jump on the bandwagon of every FOTM build because why not? This would create a really bad enviroment that would not only make the game bland as hell but would mess very hard with the economy, everyone would jump into the same build making items prices for that build stupidly high and making every other item useless as noome would be using them, at least without a skip people tend to stick with their choice or at least have to invest if they wanna change.

I don't have a problem doing PoE1's campaign at all and agree it shoudl be there. I would liked it to have only about 8 acts / 20% shorter overall -> Which is what Chris / GGG were saying in interviews during development of PoE 2 (They thought PoE1's campaign was too long) although they clearly shifted direction.

So what's your plan when you die on your maps and run out of waystones?
|

" Doryani sells infinite t1 waystones for 5k gold each. You can also just buy more from the trade site. |

I've never understood these complaints.
The campaign is the game? If you don't like the campaign, what do you even like about path of exile? The game is "move forward while killing things." The campaign is literally a long series of maps chained together for you. |

" No, the campaign is the chore you do before getting to the real game. It is not the game. The endgame mapping system is 99% of the game. That is a fact. |
