So when are you going to halve Minions aka Walking Simulator?

I've always hated mass minions builds in PoE1. Esp for problems they caused with balancing. Yet for a game that's supposed to be more hardcore. You've still allowed mass minions to exist?
Doesn't feel very PoE2 vision to me. Don't get me wrong. I don't mind minions builds. One big dude with a few temporary summons. But as developers you should understand what happens when you create a mass pet situation, right? ___________________________________________________________________ For those who think I'm just saying nerf it for no reason I'll explain the fundamental problem. Minions create alternate targets and automated damage sources. This lowers pressure on the owner of said minions. As minion numbers increase it can trivialize the game based on Enemy Density. I personally enjoy PoE2's current density and do not want to see a screen of 100 enemies like PoE1. Thus the number of minions needs to go down. 600+ Spirit providing 20 minions is simply too much. Spectre is more my style of a minion. One big hulk to control yet last I saw a Spectre was 165 Spirit which means there's still too many bodies on the screen. Oh and minions hardly die. don't nerf me pls
i like facerolling | |

Minions feel pretty weak, they don't deal meaningful damage, they don't draw much if any aggro

" The big hulk does nothing for aggro control, sadly. I agree there will be a need for balancing spirit and cost. Without the right build and decent drops minions can be brutal the first few acts, but better after the drops increased. However most witch builds struggle with low survivability, effectively becoming glass cannons, and most big boss AEO will wipe you minions unless you speck all survivability, and even then end game maps will instagib both you and the minions. The deadeye is in a simular situation. Insane damage output but very critical health. You pay a hefty price for offense in a game that so heavily punishes death lategame. Post love 70 any death will not just cost you the map and progression, but also about 15% exp. And POE2 exp progression is extremely slow. |

" u joking right? | |

Dont nerf a fun build. People like having multiple minions. Also its not OP if you dont directly go for the most broken meta bu ilds like with any class.

Have you actually played a minion using character in POE 2? A lot of what you're saying sounds like armchair observation and not actual fact. And besides, the entire power fantasy of the archetype is having many pet attackers, you remove that and there's no real point to the minion class/abilities at all and might as well delete it.

" Obviously it's not as much an issue early on. I'm more looking at the 60+ level range. From myself and IRL friends. 20 Minions is about what you can get and they don't really die. When it comes to player defense we've established it's highly based on level range which includes minions. You can look up any class video of a level 90 obliterating T15 just because of the level. This of course brings up another balance issue of level difference meaning far too much but that's another topic. The minions however eat damage from only slightly lower level mobs all day. With so many minions the Witch simply needs to focus on not getting hit, it's also why you'll see a lot of them using Shields for free ~50% no damage taken. Hence walking simulator. Still find Last Epoch to have made the better minion builds. Though does help for them that the skills are restricted to class. Even D4 with it's fault had a fairly chill Druid build last league, lots of dogs helping deleting stuff.
PoE 2 takes too long time to get them functional, and that spirit system just makes it a headache. |
