Next year people who like souls’ games will be going back to Elden ring, 2025 looks like a massive year for gaming and I am 100% sure Diablo will pick it up now.
If you want to stay on this road (which is your choice) your player base going to suffer, if you’re okay with that then fine, if not you will need to make changes as soon possible, people won’t wait around. Either way, decide your audience, stick to it, and more important tell people what your road is now, because the worst thing you can do right now is not say anything. You have a lot of faith in a franchise that hasn't put out a good game in decades. Also, Elden Ring is an entirely different experience. Just because a game is hard doesn't automatically make it equal a soulslike.
I'm also not playing PoE1, but I am playing 2, so there's that. |

This game isn't dark souls lmao.
Its hard because your gear is absolute garbage, just go buy some on poe trade for 1ex. You can buy a weapon right now for any class any build for 1ex that will literally let you kill every boss in acts in less than 30 seconds. Buy some resist gear and now instead of 90% of boss attacks one shotting you if you don't roll, only 10-20% will. Game is made significantly easier through gear, and you have an official trade site and extremely easy p2p trading that facilitates that. If you want a soulslike expierence, play SSF, but don't play tradecore/standard and just refuse to trade for some inane reason. |

Again I'm reminded of a quote from George Lucas about the Star Wars prequals. He was asked why he thought the prequals failed and he admitted that he made them for him self, the way he wanted to tell Anakin's story, and the story was personal to himself. He said he ignored his audience and he failed because he should have given his fanbase a movie that they expected a star wars movie to be.

"Agree. "Agree. I have been playing poe1 for the past 2 years, 6-8hours every day, spent thousands on MTX. I realised early i'm not the target audience for poe2, having to use 6 skills in a rotation on act 1 bosses is hard to transfer from one button andy builds. It would be good if GGG makes a statement, decides on an audience cause it could go either way. I'm sure there are others who will now financially support this company, they've drawn in an entire new audience which I hope they keep, it's just a shame not all of us will be apart of that. |
