Cast on-meta skills should only with energy build up from Melee Attacks - thoughts?
GGG should've made the Cast On-meta gems only work with energy buildup from Melee attacks!
(Coming from a Cast on Freeze & -Critical Monk specced into Crit, Cold, Evasion and Energy Shield) Thus reverse the nerf and remove the option for spells to trigger spells/Cast on-gems - or that spells have an inherent downside as a Energy builder. I think the major problem is that it fixes overpowered builds that spam spells that can crit/apply and proc with multiple different projectiles, whereas my build just uses it as I think was intended. This is the first nerf I've seen from them that seems desperate, or not very thought through - their solution is not gamebreaking but gameplay breaking for certain builds. Furthermore the Energy cost and investment does not correspond with whatever payoff, and output are way out of balance atm. 9% energy from three groups of mobs and 2-3 minutes before a cast is just unusable for the investment and min-maxing gear. The amount of time I've spent on min maxing gear to building a passive tree investment that accomedates a Cast On-build will render this option and playstyle at best bad, at worst completely useless going forwards - It's effectively makes meta gems useless unless there's something we're all missing. Other than that, thanks for the game so far. Still love it, but the respec is gonna be pretty cost heavy. The issue is that all these cast-on-X skills are in the mid tier for sorceress and witch (which are not melee classes).
We need something viable in that row. As of today it's just dead space. |

I read the title and I already decided that we have 2 options here
1. you remove your post 2. GGG deletes all spell casters |

Yeah you make a super valid point about it being a Sorceress and Witch specific meta gem - still I see this suggestion alleviating some frustration and therefore it being preferable to the current state of things.

I'm not sure I agree with you about spellcasting. I watched some guy just cruising around a map with his ranger, using exactly 2 skills to clear it all: fire wall and gas arrow, and those two casts was enough to clear each pack. Literally a lazy couple of seconds.
I have never an experience like that as a 40-something sorceress, and I definitely won't now; I have to spam dozens of spells to clear a pack in 10x or longer the time as that ranger takes. |

" How would you change it? In it's current state it's not usable - the way I see it they're not supposed to be the main damage dealer, just a secondary one. Either you leave it as is now and forget about it, or you put in sensible roadblocks (not sayin my idea is the answer), just wanted feedback on the idea.
