I demand GGG do POLLING instead of PANDERING to angry vocal minority
" Lol, so a "no you" and claiming logical fallacy. I've shut you and the other 9 down in various posts and in your own you hit me with some 2013 reddit response, how expected. |

It's the same 10 people posting all these whiny threads about how loot ruined the game lol. But of course, the "others" are the "vocal minority".
Imagine thinking GGG made changes based only on forum posts or reddit posts (which there are hundreds of anyway vs you 10) instead of actual in game data they have access to and you don't. I wonder, if GGG made a poll and it turned out you were flat wrong, would you stop making these pathetic posts "demanding" stuff? Last edited by Felix44#4475 on Dec 11, 2024, 8:54:16 PM

" You know there's 8k and 6.9k plus upvoted "don't make the game easier" threads on the POE2 reddit? There's lots of them that are similar with variously multi thousand upvotes... There's surely also some asking for buffs, but the point is your silly claims of it being 10 people are easy to disprove. And this makes your claims look desperate and empty. over 8K upvotes: https://www.reddit.com/r/PathOfExile2/comments/1h8m8c6/i_really_hope_ggg_doesnt_make_the_game_easier/ If you're going to make an ad populum argument with a really silly number like 10 people maybe you should try being at least a tiny bit informed? Again most people who like the game already aren't running to the forums to counter the silly narratives of people who don't like the game because its not easy enough. 6.9k upvotes https://www.reddit.com/r/PathOfExile2/comments/1h8xqt6/please_do_not_nerf_the_difficulty_of_this_game/ 6.1k upvotes calls unbuffed state of game phenomenal https://www.reddit.com/r/PathOfExile2/comments/1h9egw5/i_have_7k_hours_in_poe1_my_take/ This is just a quick selection of top upvoted threads. Just to be clear I am NOT making an ad populum argument for multiple reasons, I am shooting down the silly notion that 10 people don't want GGG to give in to the players who want POE2 to be a clone of POE1. You're not shutting anything down and the very fact that you need to make empty claims about doing so shows that you don't know how arguing works. You think empty claims and being more angry than someone else wins. No surprises there. Pandering to players who don't want consequences for their mistakes is a perfect description of what went fundamentally wrong with D3 and 4.
If they wanted mindless mobile game time waster gameplay they sure did make some perplexing choices and marketing statements for 6 fucking years. |

I agree with the OP's sentiment that player feedback should be taken with a grain of salt.
However I think the OP may be selling GGG short. I'm sure that they take player feedback from Reddit, forums, and any other mechanism that players are leaving feedback. I would certainly HOPE that when they get the feedback they investigate the issue, determine if the issue is real, determine if what is going on is contrary to their vision of the game, and only then do they attempt to solve an issue. As such a "poll" wouldn't really do anyone much good because if GGG thinks something is a problem they should fix it [or not] regardless of what the poll says. |

Personally I liked the loot changes and feel that only the Trials could drop a little more often now and the game will be perfect. That said, I am feeling very burned out and demotivated by the amounts of farming I had to do to get these tokens and only fail cause honor ran out. Which btw I am okay with, I'm fine with fail conditions, although when tied to such a major part of your character I feel those fail conditions should be met alongside more generous attempts at accessing it. That said, I am fully aware that people have their own vision for the game and enjoyed the more extreme difficulty created by being naked for most of the game. I respect that, and feel its worth having it's own mode for. I say this as someone who did make it to maps prior to the loot buffs. I played it every day and every day I hated it and only continued with the hope it was addressed. I hope that we can find some middle ground here where both you and I can have what we enjoy. But please don't try to dismiss everyone that hated the experience as people that didn't play the game. I absolutely played it.

" May I ask a question? Would you be opposed to difficulty setting so those that want it easier could have it easier and those who want it harder can have that too? Why does everything need to be a zero sum game? Cater to both crowds. Just like they do with hardcore, softcore, and solo self found. Personally as a gamer with joint issues in both hands I would love to have it toned down so I don't have to dodge so much and have click to move/attack improved. I tried using WASD rebound to cursor arrows(I'm a lefty) and it just made my hands hurt trying reach all my hotkeys. If it is an issues of leaderboards and people getting world first on easier difficulties just have seperate leaderboards for tracking those. |

I’m sorry, but I’m going to need to see a pole that shows GGG should in fact do polling before I can support this.
Without that this is just a vocal minority opinion (/s) But in all seriousness be careful what you wish for. You may be even more unhappy if the game were built around the will of The Mob. |

Early game design sucks. Just accept it. I applaud GGG's first tries to fix it.
Just last evening i created a new char, a Monk. And just playing the very early steps of the game within the first hour, the path naturally led me into the mud burrows at level 3 and that boss is simply impossible to kill at that level. Now you can seethe and rage about this only being act 1 and suggest i lack experience and skill... Suggest that just farm the first maps for a couple of levels and it will be easy blabla. I know. Yet the fact remains, this is bad game design when just walking out of the first encampment leads me to this bad experience, to being stuck. You can't possibly want this to be the first impression on new players. Every new player is potentially buying supporter packs etc.. I can only guess that they want to make the game big. And big means making it work for all players, not just for those who play 30 hours on the first weekend and 8 hours a day on average. If they are overwhelmed with that feedback, it is not a loud minority. And even if it were, their feedback is valid, just like the constant demands to keep the game as is. And that comes from a very loud and entitled crowd as well. Last edited by dontango#3737 on Dec 12, 2024, 12:22:27 AM

I love the terms "vocal minority" and "silent majority" because the point is that you obviously don't know that, but you can say it to make yourself seem in the majority.

I don't know.
We don't really get a vote in how GGG spends the money they raise. As much as I'd like my supporter status to confer some sort of democratized communication really all I can do is think about the feedback I do offer up and try to make sure its at least of a quality to be usable. I don't think its practical to be polling for spot decisions especially when they're in the tuning phase before a league release. IGN : Reamus
