I demand GGG do POLLING instead of PANDERING to angry vocal minority
|
Johnathan, Mark you guys are smart enough to know what selection bias is.
Think about how many posts an angry 1% of 200 or 300 thousand players can make (tens of thousands a day). Its not possible to get a representative view of the games balance by reading rage posts. I'm not saying polls wouldn't put my view in the minority either, but at least it would be more accurate and represent more views than just the most strong outliers. you are now ruining (IMO worsening) this band new game by caving into EARLY most DISTORTED FEEDBACK OF THE LEAST SKILLED LEAST EXPERIENCED PLAYERS POE2 WILL EVER HAVE. (Note thats ALL OF US I am not singling anyone out here, we're all very new). Mixed with what I expect is a minority opinion of people who want POE2 to devolve into the silly 1 button spam, loot dumpster that is POE1. 98% of the playerbase is PLAYING... the only people raging on the forums or twitter are the most motivated angry 1% and some probably smaller % of the most experienced "clear speed meta" haters who have lost this battle in POE1 already and are gunshy about losing it a second time. There are many POE2 reddit threads upvoted a lot about this same subject on both sides. its by no means clear at all that the angry POE1 boys are in the majority. LET THE FUCKIN DUST SETTLE, do polling find out how people feel ACCURATELY before you cave in and ruin the game with a bunch of balance destroying irreversible buffs. Pandering to players who don't want consequences for their mistakes is a perfect description of what went fundamentally wrong with D3 and 4. If they wanted mindless mobile game time waster gameplay they sure did make some perplexing choices and marketing statements for 6 fucking years. i agree at least you would see that nothing changed about ruthless craving crowd being tiny minority ...
bud YOU are the [Removed by Support] vocal minority here not players that represent by far the majority of potential playerbase that does NOT want "ruthless2" Last edited by Vash_GGG#0000 on Dec 11, 2024, 8:14:58 PM

The issue about loot, is that it is all chance based. So, someone's great loot drops could be 150 gold, and one magic item. But that is what the point of these posts are to let them adjust drop levels and see the reaction from the community.
I know in my case before patch I would be lucky to get a magic item from bosses or rare enemies (Usually little to no currency whatsoever). Whereas I know people were saying they were constantly dropping the rarer currencies. They got to spin those dials. Did you miss the poll? They posted the results here after gathering the data: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3611705

Would have to be in game poll to be accurate.
So far steam reviews and a poll from talkative shows 80%+ positive |

They make some QOL changes that are sensible and you start foaming at the mouth.
Whos the vocal minority again? |

" +1 |

" I fully recognize I am in the minority as a ruthless enjoyer. Originally all my posts were a salt mine, but I recognize that I'm just shouting into the void. GGG already didn't hear me for years. At this point I am just focusing on small qol/adjustments for GGG. I am hoping GGG finds a happy middleground that pleases everyone without causing the campaign and game to be trivialized. I think with small adjustments we can get there. Last edited by Vash_GGG#0000 on Dec 11, 2024, 8:15:58 PM

" I +1 this as well. There should be an effective way to send out questioner's regarding specific gameplay mechanics. Take all pig slop out of the forum disaster. |
|
" This is a patchnote. A poll is when a representative sampling of a cohort (the playerbase of a game for example) are asked questions that can be used to determine how they feel accurately. A poll is NOT when the most passionate or motivated subset of the playerbase runs to twitter or the forum to scream loudly about how the game needs to be made easier after a couple hours of gameplay in a brand new game where no one has solved anything or adapted (aka gamed). Pandering to players who don't want consequences for their mistakes is a perfect description of what went fundamentally wrong with D3 and 4.
