The game in it's current state is WAYYY too easy and it has to be changed.

After many of the updates in the past few days I am feeling more and more letdown by POE 2. It's feeling more like POE 1 every day and I just find myself feeling unchallenged and uninterested. I loved my day one playthrough, and it was a true breath of fresh air to have some real difficulty in a game like this. The first boss I think was perfect and pretty challenging - really made me feel like the identity of POE 2 was shining through. Chipping away and then getting hit for massive damage, almost dying - recovering and then fighting back. And then when the boss finally dies, it's an immediate celebration that was earned. Akin to Elden Ring. Same with packs.

Now bosses can die in one hit, packs are being cleared at the same pace as POE 1 and the gameplay to me is feeling more and more braindead as time goes on. If I start a new Warrior build and launch in - the game is cake. WAYYY too easy. Not a challenge and just point and click, dodge a few times and the boss dies. No sweating, no rush - just ... POE 1. I had a Witch build going at the start, hit a bit of a wall (which I enjoyed because early on I noticed that in this game with some thinking and maybe better equipment I could overcome that wall) and then loaded in after an update - and now it's like I leveled up 10 levels and am just decimating enemies. So unfun.

Please change this back! Keep the game punishing! If POE 1 players don't like it - they can play POE 1. That's the point. I have 500+ hours in POE 1 and the reason it's not something like 3000 is for this very reason. I want to think. I want to be challenged. I want to solve problems. POE 1's problems more lie in solving stats issues. Inflating numbers and playing that meta. I don't find that fun at all. POE 2 was supposed to be about skill as well - and in it's current state - it's not that. Children could play this no problem imo.

I fear that if they keep going in this direction - it'll just be an easier POE 1 albeit better looking. This was never what POE 2 was supposed to be, and the outcry for POE 1 hamster wheel players was incredibly disappointing imo. For the sake of the game, please revert. Make it punishing. Make it difficult. Have players hit real walls and keep combat slow. Make packs feel like real challenges, not just point and click wipes with flashy colors. We don't want a loot piñata game like POE 1 - we want a change. Why even make another game if it's just going to be the same thing? Why keep POE 1 around if there's no difference?

Maybe expand on your point or play POE 1?
You people are out of your mind imo, there's no way the high difficulty can be truly kept fully intact if they expect people to make new characters every few months from scratch for the league stuff, people will be burnt out running the whole entire campaign like that and right now it's only half of the campaign, nobody has seen the truly high end stuff like end bosses and encounters in the late acts.

And lol at the skill comment, this game is an action rpg where stats tend to matter more than skill, and even at launch was still about stats. It doesn't matter how skillful you are if you were hitting a boss like a pool noodle and perfect dodge everything for 10 minutes just to die from a slight graze from either a mistake or a bad hitbox/telegraph.

So here is the problem Im finding from reading both sides.

You have one side that is from PoE1, lets call them the sweats. They have lived, slept with, an screwed that game an left it in the closet.

The other side is all the new players, coming from different games to 'try' it out. They see, this wonderful woman, who is new an is trying to get to know her better. But the woman proves to be very toxic an then they proceed to go tell their friends to stay away from this woman after people have said "She is great and a gentle soul"

Now, I am one of the new players coming into this game. What is wild is that the sweats from PoE1 think this game was made 'Just for them' and only them. How do you have that mindset? Its a pretty archaic way to think, like your not open to change, when you yourself tell the non-sweats to embrace change. Prehaps...drink your own coolaid?

I will admit, I was having fun. But it is a slog im not used to. The 10m+ boss fights.

The entire passive tree that you cant use because "You cant play your way, have to play the sweat build way or bust" is boring.

The loot from a new players perspective is, boring. Doing a 10m boss fight playing your way should feel rewarding, which the sweats dont like being rewarded, an thats fine...we are two different groups.
In order to get better loot, you are to rely on the Dev run marketplace for the game which is...odd. D4 did this at the start with the RM marketplace an I avoided that like the plaque, an Id prefer not to partake in this games marketplace either.

The difficulty is fine imo, just bosses dont need to be 10m+ long fights. Thats boring. They need to have their HP pools cut down for solo, an Id guess keep them the same with 2+ ppl. Like I literally am running out of steam on those fights were I dont want to play anymore. An if your a sweat that likes 5+m boss slogs, thats fine, this new player doesnt.

Again, this is early access. I believe they want new players to come in an try their game, but its proving frustrating for them, an GGG is trying to encourage them to keep playing, an thats not a huge problem. The sweats see that as GGG caving in, when in reality, bringing in new players gets them more money so....go back to PoE1? I dont know, didnt like PoE1 either. But I was enjoying this, until I realized I cant play my way an have to play the sweat way or the highway in the builds, its...frustrating.

Also, to add...sweats complaining about the difficulty. How about go into hardcore were if you mess up you die an have to restart? Im sure most of you are already doing that, so thats fine, your learning.

This game needs work for the new players coming into the game, lets see how far it will go.
Sounds like you've beaten this game thoroughly and you're ready to move on to something that can adequately stimulate you.

We're all very proud. Good job for destroying early access in POE2, skilled gamer bro.

Spoken like a person not even remotely engaging in the endgame -you know where the game is supposed to get hard...?
I agree that the challenge is what matters!!

However, we are getting ONE SHOT OFF SCREEN at the moment. Usually by bosses.

That can't continue.

We need the challenge, but that challenge needs to be fair and appropriate.
