I would prefer POE1 v2
" It was literally supposed to be the same game https://youtu.be/mcd9BfVw7hQ?si=zQO0alzvzB4Z94IP&t=275 Since 2019 it was announced as an expansion for PoE 1 Then in 2023 it was suddenly a seperate game So no, wasn't going to be the same game all over again, was supposed to be added content for PoE 1 Last edited by Jokke1989#7206 on Dec 11, 2024, 3:48:21 PM

Well I'm sure they will add skills over time.
I agree with the sentiment that it's a game that's trying to be between worlds. As an action game it's not fluid enough because movement speed and kind of attack speed is too slow. But I feel they designed the entire game around boss matches, that again feel like characters are too slow to really benefit from the new mechanics. I would gladly give up the Dodge roll for movement skills that are more specific or more unique. It's like in an FPS you can walk or run or crawl. This game is stuck on walk mode. I think what made POE good was unique map designs and skills that were fluid / fast casting. And of course having many different ways to change and swap out skills. Like they should consider the ruthless/ easy divide to cater to both sides. I don't see the hook to POE2 yet. |

" They changed their mind and direction with it. They're allowed to do that. | |
" And in the same way, that decision is allowed to be criticized Obviously many newcomers to PoE 2 understandably really enjoy PoE 2 (and so does many PoE 1 players btw) But if you had waited for an expansion for a game you like, that suddenly didn't happen .. And then the new game was a game that went in an entirely different direction, I think you would be a bit let down too Try to view a situation in someone elses shoes for a bit Guild Wars 1>2 was similar situation (except they never claimed GW2 would be an expansion for many years) I started on Guild Wars 2 And it's one of my favorite games of all time But I can certainly understand why Guild Wars 1 folks was dissapoinsted with the game Last edited by Jokke1989#7206 on Dec 11, 2024, 4:09:09 PM

For me the worst part is they balancing the game around dodge rolling and the limitation on support gems.
Also there is no reason to still have skills as gems to equip on a menu from the invetory, just make them all available in the menu to customize after you "buy" them. |

I feel like the ship has sailed in trying to wrangle PoE 2 into being PoE 1 v2. Why not post feedback on PoE 1 forums on how to evolve that game into v2?

" I like the end game atlas (even if map are way too big) But Skills Gems need to be rethink, comobo seems cool but it's OK if you have direct damage, I tried to play Poison Build, you can't really setup thing, monster are too quick so you can't do anything around DoT and empower it ... It feels like Diablo 3 on the first release ... |

" I wouldn't be surprised if PoE 2 in many ways end up much closer to PoE 1 eventually Depends on how well GGG can keep hold on a new audience |

" Uhhhhh this is POE 1 v2. It has a 2 right in the title. Say you don't like POE 1 V2, but be don't be confused about any sequel being a version 2. And if you meant an upgrade to the existing game, you have had how many expansions? Each of those could be considered a version. |
