Where's the female melee/STR class?

The Huntress is muttering to herself, spear at the ready, "Am I joke to you?" Str/Dex hybrid. Done.
The Huntress (or Javazone) that is coming may be not a STR character, but a female frontfighter, so thats that. (Shield and Spear).

So you can roleplay as Viper Napuatzi if you want ;)

A female Marauder like character would feel a bit out of place to me.

Yeah because after I kill a boss I always say "thank god my character is a female/male".

The literal only time you actually care about what gender the character is, is during character select. After that they're surrounded by so much mtx that you can't tell what they are. Out of all the things to care about in this game, this is the very least important, and very most ridiculous. If you want inclusion and wokeage, go play D4

People keep using this excuse for why it doesn't matter. Okay, then why even bother with graphics for your character? Shouldn't we just use an icon, like a green triangle? It does matter.

You could even argue that weapon choice is irrelevant. Who cares if it is a sword or a bow. With all the special effects just give every class a stick and tell them to stop worrying about trivial things like how their weapon looks.
Same ugly, phobic replies as always to a very common and reasonable request. Great job, PoE "Community."

The Huntress is not a STR/DEX hybrid. She is a pure Dexterity class, the twin to the Ranger.

Male characters cover the gamut; Templar/Druid/Shadow/Monk cover Intelligence builds from any direction, and similarly Shadow/Monk/Duelist/Mercenary cover Dexterity builds from any direction. Players who want to play female characters have no access whatsoever to the Strength area of the skill tree, however. You used to be able to tomfool a STR-based female character with the Scion, but they removed that option with no intention of ever replacing her.

Does this matter to most of you? No. Does that lack-of-mattering-to-you make the problem a nonfactor? Also no.

It may seem reasonable from the outside, but inside it's not practical. 2 character models for each class, redesign of the entire intro scene, new dialogue, the list goes on. You have to pay someone to design all these features into the game. Why waste resources on creating literally DOUBLE everything, thus doubling the costs? Johnathan said this himself: "Give them an inch, they want a mile". Next thing they'll want is ways to cosmetically alter your character during creation. Then they'll want the female characters to be more "presentable". Then they want more representation, and MTX's that show every inch of legally allowable skin revealed in an MTX. The devs (and most of the community) mostly care about functionality of the game. If they included multiple genders for each class, but the game was dog heap, the very first thing people would complain about is "game trash but you can choose your gender lul".

Again, I'll say: of all the things that matter in this game, this topic is the least important, and most ridiculous. Not ridiculous because people are requesting it, but because it is monetarily not in the company's best interest to spend so much money on doubling every playable character.

Also, saying people's opinions is "phobic" just because they disagree with gender dynamic ANYTHING is straight up stupid, and 100% victim mentality. We're adults here. Be one.

It's not an excuse, it's a reason. Excuse implies there was some sort of blame to be avoided here, which obviously there was not.

phobic?
you believe people have an irrational fear of female STR characters?
or is it more likely that its just seen as a bit of a silly thing to be so concerned about?
coming from a manly man, over 6ft, work a manly job ect.. i main a female sorc and have never once had an issue with it. i would see myself as behaving very oddly if i did.

i highly doubt anyone would care if you could pick male/female for whatever class, its just not an important thing and dev time is far better spent elsewhere.

nobody is afraid of you. i hope you feel the same about everyone else.

I mean, I didn't. Then I saw some of the replies in this thread and now I know at least some of the people here do.

That's a my bad, I forgot Duelist was the other Str/Dex build. I misremembered. But spears are supposed to be the sweat spot between melee and ranged. And besides, having the Warrior being specifically being Renly's adopted son and from the area was really cool to me. That wouldn't been possible, or as convincing, if it was a generic male or female character. These are specific exiles who committed specific "crimes". Time and place for have a customizable character, but I trust GGG to make good lore for their characters.

can you point them out to me please?
+1 on wanting strength based female characters.

And seriously people trotting out the same tired arguments after all these years is laughable. Realism in a game where you fight giants that could smoosh a person instantly no matter their body size. I'm sure you also think a big muscular man could handle getting hit by a train too.
