it's still early access, but as far as im aware, the marauder will be female. When we see it, who knows. there's a lot still in development.

Given the lore, it'll be interesting to see how GGG works that one out. =0[.]o=

Seek therapy if you care about what char model your pixels are.

ah yes, the classic trick of implying that people who care about the role play in a role playing game are mentally ill
what a normal take
Unlike in an MMORPG, the character you play is not a representation of yourself. Instead, the 12 characters each have their own established backstories within the world. You are simply stepping into their narrative after they escaped the gallows.

For example, the Warrior is the son of the village blacksmith, who was either lost or ran away before committing a crime or being falsely accused of one. The Monk, on the other hand, was blamed for the assassination of his entire conclave. It wouldn’t make sense to have two gender options, as their identities are tied to their backstories.
I'd be down to see a STR based female character. Now's a good time as any to put in the request for one while they're still in flux for half of the classes they have in mind (think they said they're aiming for 12 or more, right?). I say go for it if there's still enough flexibility in the designing to make it happen.

If they're planning to reuse character models to make those upcoming classes though, probably would be a bit much of an ask depending on their finances. Don't know how much of a budget they've got for development on that, but definitely think it'd be good to see if it's financially viable.

Not sure I follow what you're stating here. The gender of the individual has very little to do with the backgrounds here. Doing multiple genders for each character would be difficult because of development cost reasons for sure, but their background has no basis on their gender for being able to fit the narrative... could easily be the adopted daughter of the blacksmith and a sister of the conclave just as easily as the adopted son and brother of the conclave with a few swapping of some pronouns. Its the development overhead (models, animation, voice acting) with that approach that would be the real pain point of implementation.
