OK I give in, this is just not a game for ARPG fans

Most people are just missing the obvious thing here, they're just not used to a different game.
All of the bosses can be cleared in Act 1 in a couple of hours (6 at most), probably ending about level 12. All of the bosses have similar mechanics, Dash / Charge Abilities which can be baited out, Ad summons or cleave. Once you learn the telegraphing, you can avoid most of it, then it becomes a chip fight. Miller - Move to the side and hit him Asinia - Keep moving, step on souls, clear ads. Draven - Move to the side, step on souls. Rust King - Move sideways, clear ads, hit boss If you can't win a fight, take a step back and figure out whats not working in your kit. Have you considered not voicing your opinion? You have that right too..

" There must be a language barrier. I am speaking only for myself. "I like chocolate and I like this cake, therefor it must be chocolate cake" is a really stupid position. |

" Most of them are OK, but for example Frost Sorc vs the Wolf is not a pretty fight, especially the 'Brine King' + (whatever was that 'offsreen flyer/bomber' boss) phases where you get easily swarmed by mobs, that push and interrupt you all the time (on top of boss 'bombing' runs). I gave up after 8 tries, each taking good 10-15 minutes of 'drop Frost Bomb, roll, roll, roll until cooldown is over, repeat'. Very engaging gameplay ... |

" Sure. That's incredibly boring and pointless however, and you already have a game perfectly suited to it - Path of Exile 1. I've already got multiple POE2 characters and have concrete plans for at least three more as the game goes on. A thirty-hour campaign sounds great. Five-minute boss fights are no problem. Dancing with a pack you bring down with a dozen interwoven skill activations feels so much better than just Click > Boom > Continue to Zoom. What it sounds like you want is a Diablo-like, not an ARPG. The rest of us are thrilled to have an entry in the genre that combines the buildcraft of a traditional ARPG with actually meaningful combat. The 'combat' in Diablo-likes has always been by far the weakest element of the genre. Now we have a game where it's not. Let's enjoy it, shall we? She/Her

I can’t wait to see, in 2 or 3 months, good players starting to reach the Atlas in just 8 hours, and you all realizing that this entire time, the problem wasn’t the game—it’s that you’re just bad players. Players who can’t do anything without a detailed tutorial and a copy-paste build.
The good news is that in 2-3 weeks, the internet will be flooded with great tutorials and solid builds from skilled players. Then you can copy and paste those, stop crying about the game being too hard, and accept that you simply don’t know how to play or make a decent build on your own—yet. Hope you keep getting better and better at the game—or just stick to playing PoE 1 with a copy-paste strong build made by someone else. That’s fine too. |

" You fail to realise that poe2 is a dumbed-down version of poe1, and extremely slow, and currently boring gameplay, so please stop your elitist attitude. People who play poe1 already know what most gems do, and can make a semi-decent build in poe2. All the build guides are useless in EA, as there will be alot of changes during the next few months. Also i wont be surprised if they do several character resets during EA, due to patching updates. Poe2 Atlas in 8 hours - no chance of that before the main release, they will probably have to ramp it up in a year or two, after they lose casual player interest - Atlas in 8 hours is poe1 speed, which GGG dont like, as players are having fun. GGG hate players having fun. Last edited by wi5pa1#1100 on Dec 11, 2024, 2:18:51 AM

Sick of the elitist "We know what constitutes fun and a good game better than everyone else".
Telling me to "Shut up and go back to POE1 because you want 50 rares from every elite kill". Firstly, they act as if there is no middle ground. There OBVIOUSLY is. Secondly they also act as if Ruthless mode doesn't exist. It DOES. Thirdly, the biggest gripe for almost every single player isn't skill issue, it's that it is BORING. It doesn't have to pigeonhole itself into go straight up ruthless mode from act 1. It could, and should, have been a curve from act 1 to 4 or 5 at least. Let players learn the game and feel progression, not that every white mob is a slog of rolling and punching 15% hp off, then roll again. I'd like to remind people that their experience is NOT everyone else's experience. 25 hours in I found two uniques that are unusable for my class, still wear blue items, my weapon sucks, and I can count the amount of currency drops that wasn't augments or transmuted on one hand. ONE hand. Yes I've picked up everything. Yes I've checked vendors, every single level up. The game is still not fun, and I'm just as validly entitled to say that as you are claiming its perfect. Deal with it. |

Which bosses take forever to take down? I am dumpstering them very fast, definitely can't complain about damage from warior, every ability does decent damage.
Maybe you have trash items or something. POE2 seems like an easy game to me compared to POE1 that's why I like it. But POE2 is also much more engaging. My opinion is that those that complain about the game will not complain when there are in-depth guides on how to get currency and scale dmg. Because to me, game was easy from the very beginning, especially once I learned how dmg scaling works in ARPGs. DMG was good from the start, drops were decent. Nothing wrong with blue items, they can be very strong in campaign. Poor decision making is the reason for complains. Once we have guides there will be no need to make decisions. " It took me 15 hours and 17 minutes /played with 23 deaths to make it to maps on my first char in poe2 (some spark deadeye I randomly put skill points in), that was without knowing the quests or anything. If I would do it again, have a premade skilltree and knowing which minibosses to skip I can easily see myself turning the time to 10ish hours. The game is not as hard as most keep saying, just lack of skills and experience. Last edited by Traizix#4734 on Jan 6, 2025, 4:57:01 PM
