You have alienated your own playerbase

"Alienating your own playerbase" does not make sense since there is still PoE 1. I guess the decision to keep both games alive caters to the fact that they explicitly wanted to try something new that does not cater to their PoE 1 playerbase. So.. doesn't make sense to me.

Imho giving use alterations or at least scourings would fix a large part of the problem.
Or rebalance the DMG on martail weapon bases so your not 100% required to hit ~2 mods for them to being any decent. I like the game but I used the same damn Bow from the end of Act 1 till mid Act 3... Which wasn't exactly "fun" after like mid Act 2. Luckily my build hit some milestones that still allowed me to overcome. But did it feel smooth? Hell no. If I was melee I would probably have been seriously shafted. |

The people who say that the current balance is good just wish to hurt the potential reach of Path of Exile 2, so that it would be a niche product with a niche audience.
The current balance isn't good, it's pushing people away, people who were willing to trust their precious money to GGG for the promise of an amazing game. People being discouraged and feel like they cannot continue playing is an issue that SHOULD be looked into. The good: the systems being streamlined is nice, it's more accessible in terms of features and descriptions. The bad: The balance is horrible. Try playing a warrior while not being a masochist - it's not fun. I played warrior as my first character, completed Act 1 without any help, but it wasn't FUN. It took me 5-6 hours to complete the first Act and there were a number of fights where I just did so little damage that it felt like a joke. While I created a sorceress after my warrior, and she felt like easy-mode in comparison. What's up with that?! I guess GGG could add difficulty ratings to the classes, but it's crazy how Sorceress has a rather straightforward skill tree with lots of "% damage increase" options. Warrior has tank skills, but none of them are huge increases (No HP increase clusters are available early and the biggest ones are 3-5% only aka the tanks in POE2 will heavily depend on the "raise shield" skill, but still cannot take too many hits without it from bosses), warrior has physical damage increase but physical damage potential isn't that big and loses big to casters (particularly in Act 1, it was miserable), warrior also has fire/totem opportunities, most likely fire damage would be a good build, but totems seemed horribly weak. The best early game experience belongs to Witch, who can just spam minions, maybe a few supportive spells, while also being able to focus on dodging. All other classes have to play POE 2 as Elden Ring, which isn't accessible. Even Elden Ring's early game doesn't have as high of a skill requirement than POE 2 in Act 1 - and this is a major issue imho. Elden Ring's first boss Godrick made 33% of the players quit in Elden Ring & I think POE 2's Act 1 might take out even more, because it's honestly even more difficult. And from my experience Act 2 is even more difficult than Act 1, so how many people will really reach the endgame in POE2? Fyi: The more people reach the endgame in POE2 the better it is for GGG, because those people will support the game then w/Stashes, etc. No new player will buy cosmetics after full release. POE2 needs to be more player friendly to be able to catch a bigger audience, right now a lot of bosses are way overtuned. For example at the end of the 2nd Act boss, you will run out of flasks during the end of the fight & you will really need to sweat and dodge while conserving resources - Who the hell would enjoy it other than a niche audience? You can have a slightly more difficult early game than POE 1, but it shouldn't be close to the difficulty of Elden Ring or Dark Souls, at least not from Act 1, 2 or 3. For the moment, the lack of loot and currency make it difficult, but after weeks of farm and endgame content it should be pretty good , it's not a problem to progress slowly .
Compare to poe1 it seems bad, but we will play in standard during 6/12 months so once we'll have enought currency/unique , campaign with a new character will be more easy and fun. |

" That's an opinion, you WANT changes, it does not necessarily need it. " GGG has tried to make an ARPG by taking inspiration from ARPGs. Truly baffling intellect here. " 73% of statistics are made up. " You're being punished for dying, not playing. Rerun those monsters and learn not to die this time. " It's the beginning of EA. There are ENTIRE WEAPONS without skills yet. Hang onto your pants. " Well, even a broken clock is right twice a day. " That's literally PoE 1. Play PoE 1. Difficult from the start is engaging right away. I agree there needs to be more currency drops, as they've STATED that crafting is supposed to be a huge part and I've seen like 4 regals by the end of act 3. Everything else is disingenuous made up "facts" or strictly opinion. The first of which is gross, the second is fine - if stated AS any opinion and not fact. |

" I have been Trying to play this game, but so far this is a game I am having a terrible time playing. If this was my first game I played from GGG, I would never play this game again. I waited 4 years......for this. I hope something is fixed because this game is just terrible to play. Just my opinion, but have played PoE1 since open beta, unless PoE2 Drastically changes, I will not play this game again. It is slow, frustrating, slow, clunky, slow.......this is not a fun game to play At All for me. :( |

You found a new player base. I never liked poe1 and this game makes everything so much better.

" There is somethign goofy with the drop tables. you had this experience.. while others do not. FOr example.. I Got 17 Exalted orbs but only 2 rare and 1 regal orb.. So where in hell am I supposed to use those 17 exalteds? |

I don't like monster respawn on death, it's completely unnecessary mechanic. I would rather take -5% to exp bar or something. Or repair cost, but full area respawn? Nah.
Roll should clip through enemies, otherwise it's kind of pointless. |

" I said something similar and similarly long in another thread, also used Elden Ring as an example. Some of the git gud crowd apparently don't really play Souls games or they are incapable of telling the difference between tedious and fun. |
