Loot is awful

I love most things about the game, I commend you guys for the great work done so far.

Loot in this game feels completely terrible. I can fight an end of Act boss for 5-10 minutes and get 2 white items. That's it?

I am relying heavily on the fact the boss might drop something good because absolutely nothing of value drops for me during regular mobs, so I have to farm a boss 30 times to get a semi-decent item. Something needs fixed because I can't get what I need to progress.

I appreciate you give Wisdom Scrolls like people bought toilet paper during the pandemic, but can you please for the love of Chris Wilson himself improve the loot tables, they completely suck right now.

I think gear progression too heavily favours crafting... and even then it's kinda fucked. Right now it goes like this:
- disencant items for materials.
- drop white item
- turn it into magic item and hope for useful stat
- if no useful stat discard and go back to step 2 rinse repeat until useful stat
- use augment to add extra affix. Is it good? continue.. otherwise... step 2
- hope to god you have found enough rare items you don't need to disencant for regal orbs so you can make it rare.
- Is item useful? exalted orb and pray

Not exactly what i would count as fun while leveling. Atleast having the bosses guarantee one rare item would be so much better than this loot desert.

The vendors have not had anything of use to me so far... I thought ruthless mode was supposed to just be a niche sideproject...
The access to player power is just non-existent.

I do trust it will get better in time. If there's one developer i trust to make the right decisions it is GGG.
I 100% agree it could get better with time

We really need another avenue to improve our gear besides hope and a prayer that we get good gear and currency to drop, you are lucky if you get one of the other and you essentially win the lottery if you get both.

Loot just feels extremely stingy and white items don't sell for enough to vendors for me to turn around and buy upgrades

I feel stuck without grinding for 8 hours on a boss (I've already grinded for 2 hours on the last boss to try and get gear) I made 3k and got no gear upgrades.

Jonathan if you read this, this is entirely unfun because it's unrewarding, the difficulty would be fine if players had more agency.

I believe people having issues with difficulty actually have progression issues not difficulty issues because we as players lack so much agency to improve our characters right now.

It seems like if they fixed the gear improvement agency for players then half the difficulty gripes would go away because then people would have a means to solve their own problem.

I think this is a part of the frustration. Resists seem to be pretty mandatory in the campaign, but we can't reliably get what we need to solve the problem. We can't alteration spam, we have no crafting bench, and the runes drop so rarely.

I haven't seen a Desert rune in ages and I need more fire res
+1 , need either more raw drops or more crafting currency drops.
+1, adding more simplified way to add custom "a-la crafting bench" stats will improve the current status to have in POE this new crafting "Diablo-like" experiences a lot.
Another +1, I know I'm probably undergeared (trying to do the first Sekhema trial now), but loot is so infrequent to try to farm and if it does drop, it's usually white gear or a blue gear ten levels below me.
+1 Yes.
Gear progression feels underwhelming right now. Even with some bad luck, I’ve gone through all of Act 1 and half of Act 2 without finding any relevant item drops. As a dad with limited time, the only semi-decent items I have are either vendor purchases or self-crafted.

It’s disappointing to defeat bosses early in the game and receive nothing exciting.

I understand that farming becomes viable in the late game, but what new player will stick around if the first few hours offer no rewarding moments?

This is feedback specifically about gear, not the game as a whole.

Appreciate you responding, I think that's the thing many people aren't able to articulate as well. The difficulty many are having IS tied to the lack of player agency currently. If they fix loot, the game becomes much more manageable for a wide variety of people.
Loot definitely feels like Ruthless almost but the drop rate of augmentation and exalted orbs feels much higher so it's better to craft loot rather than rely on a drop. IDK it feels odd but rewarding by sticking to something good you make.
