Answering your question: It is game for people that like this type of game, but without zoom zoom combat.
There are 2 things, one is combat difficulty and another is build depth. This is game for people who want both, there is no such game in the market right now except Poe 2.
I personally love this, and it's not garbage just because you hate the taste of it.
This is how innovation looks like, most don't understand it at first. Why do you want to revert this, instead of respecting the design and going back to play other games?
As you can probably understand now, for people like me you just sound absurd, their reputation is better than ever right now.
The masses won’t like it as its not designed for the masses, and in 2024 where people don’t have as much time and money, this game will be done before it launches.
Now they are free to make it a souls game but it the majority won’t play it who like ARPGS and the majority of Elden Ring players wont play it because it’s not a 3rd person souls game.
They are done if they don’t make changes.
oh and their reputation is being trashed on here and social media right now.

I never get why so few ppl understand this. I always have the feeling ppl have clearly no understanding how much money development and running online services cost and how many games broke down because of this that tried to be artificially hard.
To add to your point, at some point in the future they will shut down PoE1 because it makes no sense from an economic point of view to have 2 seperate dev teams working on 2 different games that are very similar at the base. Its very unlikely that PoE2 stays like this, it is however not unlikely that there might be a game mode cathering to the more hard core audience. Interestingly that is something noone thinks about.

Actually, if you had any level of reading comprehension, you would notice I said, that everything you said there was wrong, not that there is nothing wrong with the game.

Wrong? But also what auspexa is saying is half true. A lot of people clearly wanted PoE1 with updated graphics, and are now throwing a fit that it's not what they've been given. Which is ridiculous.

It is true. In the last 20 years no game company managed to get any hard core game as an online service established. Tehre are simply not enough players that play and spend regularly to cover the development and server cost. Its a huge difference developing a souls single player game and having one that runs on an online server.
At the end of the day you get 2 problems:
1.) You need to get your investment back and cover the running cost.
2.) You have to keep your reputation.
The beta wil change in the upcomming months and adress the issues. You might get a mode that resembles the current state but the game will not stay like this.

Elden Ring doesn't exist. Eve Online doesn't exist. Albion Online doesn't exist. WoW HC doesn't exist. Despite me not wanting to credit it as I think there are a huge number of problems with it, Tarkov is also very very financially successful. I don't think you are interested in actual hardcore games, or else you would probably know about all of the hardcore, permadeath, permaloot, PvP, mechanically intensive, deep live service games out there.
