SUGGESTION: Please update WASD keyboard mouse control method
WASD+Mouse, as it is right now, is the way to go. No matter where your cursor is, your character will always move in the same direction when you press a specific keyboard button. It’s reliable, and 90% of games that use WASD+Mouse controls follow this approach.
Tank controls only work because tanks are super slow—the kind of slow you definitely wouldn’t want in PoE2. To make tank controls even remotely functional, they’d have to slow the game down by at least 50%, which would completely undermine its pace and intensity. It simply won’t work, nor will it feel as good as you might expect. I mean, can you name a single game with tank controls that plays significantly faster than World of Tanks? " the way it is, is crap. it looks and plays awkwardly. and, the zelda games aren't tank control games. I think you just don't have the reading comprehension and 3d spatial skills to fathom what I am talking about, and I can totally understand where you're coming from Last edited by fewli0h#5970 on Dec 17, 2024, 4:58:16 AM

I think adding this as a toggle option is fine, but I do have concerns about how it might feel, particularly for ranged or caster characters. Personally, I was initially skeptical about WASD movement in PoE2, especially after using mouse movement for 5k+ hours in PoE1. However, after trying it, I found the WASD system to be surprisingly comfortable for my spell caster build. While I’m not against the idea of this toggle, I personally feel that the current WASD setup works better for me.

" Why the trash talk? I responded politely. Just because I don’t share your opinion doesn’t mean you need to get personal. And which Zelda games are you referring to? Are you talking about Breath of the Wild or Tears of the Kingdom? Those are third-person games where the camera is always close to Link, can turn around and is usually positioned behind him. You can’t simply take mechanics designed for a third-person perspective and expect them to work seamlessly in an isometric-viewed game. Last edited by AceNightfire#0980 on Dec 17, 2024, 5:09:25 AM

This is such a bad idea I can't even believe I'm understanding what you're saying right.
Do you mean to say, if you have your mouse to the right side of the screen and you press w to go "forward", your character would go to the right of the screen? Rinse and repeat for all degrees of rotation? Because that is such an insanely bad idea it's hard to believe it's a real idea. |

I sometimes wonder if you people have any idea what you are asking for.
This is by far the worst idea ever. Having the directions be static is a must for faster paced isometric gameplay with Stick or WASD control. But you could add this for all the ACT 1 normal enjoyers. |

" you could do left right, based on character on screen viewpoint, or, left right absolute toggle. but forward always homes in on the cursor, and back backs away, interacting dynamically with the position of the cursor. the character is always looking/aiming in the direction of the cursor. it's like zelda and it could definitely work |

The way WASD works now is so perfect, and it emulates other WASD based games with lots of movement ... I genuinely don't even know what you're getting at, but the way you're describing it already exists exactly in the point & click option, where you bind move to a button that just moves your forward to where your cursor is pointing.
