SUGGESTION: Please update WASD keyboard mouse control method
how it is, it's fine as an option.
However, there should be an option to WASD move forward, backward, left right. moving forward should then always be linked to where the mouse cursor is. Forward or backward based on always moving towards or away from the mouse cursor. Could also have auto trajectory course change movement homing in on the mouse cursor, or toggled off. I'd have to test both ways to see what I like best. Overall I think this will be a lot better for me. Last edited by fewli0h#5970 on Dec 7, 2024, 2:08:30 PM Last bumped on Dec 17, 2024, 6:48:12 AM

Of course WASD is in a bad way actually...really surprising that big mistake of control.Crossfingers for a quick change.

Seriously?... What a bad idea...
I think you dont understand that what you want is to be mouse direction locked and each time you move you curser upside down over your avatar (so in every fight) your left and right gonna be inverted, you cut the dynamic gameplay in half, litteraly. DrScout: If nobody in the beta acces relate this there is a reason, and a good one obviously. WASD (ZQSD in EU) is a big improvement compare to poe 1, D4 players asking this from day one to bli² (they respond that isn't possible in their engine). GGG dont gonna take time to put a option that is a bad idea... realy... |

I think the forward button homing in on the mouse cursor is probably the way to go, and it would allow for some really beautiful mouse keyboard movement interacting with one another in a way unlike any other 3rd person camera game ever made. It would probably make the game go down in the anals of history
(and fyi if you ever played robotron 2084 or any twin stick shooter, you'll notice that somehow your brain is able to keep the bullets aiming at the target whether you are hovering above or below the target even though the direction of the joystick is often changing. The brain is more adaptable than most public school educated individuals will ever realize) Last edited by fewli0h#5970 on Dec 17, 2024, 3:20:21 AM

the way it is now, all directions are absolute no matter where you are on screen. they could keep left and right as absolute, but make forward and back take on the direction of a line between the points of the player character and the mouse cursor or an AI clearance of obstacles to get to the position of the cursor
actually now that I think about it, it's the zelda 64 style for isometric. your shooting direction affects your movement, and you auto shoot at the enemy your cursor is hovering over. because your movement is based on where you are looking, left and right always move in a circular strafing pattern. shigeru myamoto and team developed this a long time ago Last edited by fewli0h#5970 on Dec 17, 2024, 4:08:16 AM
