Please don't watter down the difficulty.
It's perfect as it is.
Yes some skills/classs need just a little bit balance to perform better but overall it's a loveletter to us oldschool gamer and ARPG player who can handle a little bit of a challange. Coming from a time where you were able to fall down a rope in Tomb Raider f.e. having challanging fights in a game is so refreshing in the middle of all the trivial games where you can beat all content simply by rolling your head over the keyboard. I get it that the TikTok generation has no patience and want to faceroll all content 1 hour into the new league, but we already have enough games out there to fullfill theyr desires to beat everyting with 0 effort. Thanks GGG for the amazing game, this one has the potential to become the best ARPG of all time. Only a POE3 with all the features of POE2 + the graphics & fight system of a god of war could beat it, but thats it. ^^ Last bumped on Dec 9, 2024, 7:28:01 AM

I wish there was +1 button. Completely agree, these posts might be very important soon, as there is really a lot of unfair and not constructive complaining from D4-like gamers.

Well, if they wont change the difficulty i hope you will enjoy the game with the 30 other people who love Dark Souls in Action RPG. Everyone else will be gone, along with any money they would spend.

Sure, a couple of the bosses could use a little tweaking (and they'll get it -- it's early access, after all). But for the most part, the difficulty is fine. The game just has a slower pace than what PoE1 (or D4) regulars are used to; it's slower, especially in act 1, and you need to take your time with things. Just remember that monsters here are all monsters (there are no trash mobs), and than everything can and will kill you if you don't respect it, and you'll be fine. It's not Dark Souls hard or anything; I'm not a super hardcore gamer, and I'm managing to progress through the campaign so far without too much trouble. It reminds me of the difficulty of open beta PoE1, frankly, which was the version of the game that I fell hard for. It's taking me back, and I'm loving it. Stay sane, exiles! Nope guys. It's like you're level 3 fighting a level 13 boss. I'm trying to get my daughter into POE2 and it's simply to hard for her. It simply needs better balancing.

" Elden Ring was a bestseller so that is pretty bad argument and ofc sad view for big corporations producing minimum effort cash grabs. This shows how many people are sick of watered down games these days. |

I am a Souls player, I can handle myself, I killed most Elden Ring DLC bosses without dying once, and didn't die a single time in 5 chapters of Wukong NG+ run to platinum the game, so the git gud argument is irrelevant, but this is not for you or me to decide. I personally don't see that much appeal for an isometric ARPG with dodge rolls and iframes, where the overall pacing and loot/progression is slower than fans of this genre is used to, where clearing a single map is a slog and the first 2 Acts of the campaign is enough to frustrate some players. PoE2 is a live service game intended to be a bigger than poe1 and is supposed to attract millions of gamers and have a lifespan of 10+ years, but if the entire game is like this or gets even harder down the road, a LOT of casual players won't stay. This is a commercial product after all, so at the end of the day the money will do the talking and make GGG decide on the direction of their game.

I am baffled why so many of you want others to have a bad time.
Current game feels like you took Ruthless from POE1 and made it the normal mode for POE2. If that is the intent, great, add an easier mode for people who are not interested in that amount of difficulty, who have enough "difficulty" during the week, during work etc. I just want to play and have fun. Game is not fun right now. Remember, people who are not having fun, are not in your game and spend nothing in your MTX store. You hard difficulty players should be embracing making the game accessible for more people, so that it continues to be profitable. I'm just one person, but one person who tends to spend more than the average player in online games and I am not enjoying the current experience. I'm done buying anything until we get some clarity on the future of POE1 and POE2 and I know GGG plans to spend effort on a game I want to play.
Tell us if POE1 still has your top tier support or if POE2 will get a mode for more casual play. |
