Absolutely disapointed -- This game is hard, and not in a fun way.

this is insane why is the game this hard in normal act 2 act 1 boss was way overtuned do we really need to look up a video for each boss to beat the campaign? how are normal players??

I understand this game is a step in a different direction from POE1 and it's supposed to be slower paced and more challenging but im finding it difficult for the wrong reasons.

The game seems to require precision inputs to avoid abilities, especially in boss fights, but there is nothing precise about the level of control you have over your character. This is coming from someone who is playing mouse and kb (not wasd) which should be the most precise possible method of input. The game feels extremely janky and I do not feel in control of my character in between the long animations and forced movement during abilities. Rolling feels slow and just bad in general. It becomes less of a reactive counter and I find myself spamming it in most situations. Because of this boss fights, where precise movement is most required, is often reduced to me standing in one spot tanking as much damage with my pots whilst outputting damage in order to get a heavy stun and repeat. If i run around the arena trying to interact with the mechanics, I just take so much damage anyway, and im not doing damage to the boss, eventually running out of pots and failing.

Also, I cant speak for other classes but warriors abilities are frankly awful. They are not fun to play with. Long animations with little payoff all whilst getting obliterated with fast attacks from random white mobs. It simply doesnt feel good to play. It's not fun. It's also not difficult. It's tedious and boring. On bosses im swapping my strongest support gems to my auto attack because for some reason GGG has made your auto attack your highest DPS ability without locking you into garbage animations.

Last gripe, THE LOOT? there isn't any. There's none. No loot anywhere. Does GGG want me to repeat campaign bosses/sections to farm orbs shards? I can't believe they expect that? Who wants to replay campaign sections in an ARPG. I'm finding myself having to do that. Currently resistances are so hard to come by. Im rocking 0% lighting res and if I stumble accross heavy lightning damage i get cooked. This game in its current state is simple not rewarding. This is an ARPG for christ sake????

IDK trying to have fun but it's such a slog I had to turn it off.

No clue how you figure MnK is gonna be more precise than WASD. People need to try WASD before talking about boss fights. I think that MnK could probably get more love, but as someone who has played ARPGs since D2 with the MnK style, I started with WASD and didn't look back. It just makes more sense for this game, and I honestly don't see the huge issue with that.

the fact that it keeps cancelling out my skills is good enough for me to not want to use it.
+1

and totaly no-balance , play sorceress staff +3 lvl gem + 40% increase spell
so WHY i need 3 hit for 1 white mod ? wtf oO
I started as a Witch. I cannot kill the first boss, no matter what, because I went minions. I put everything into minions and they just don't DO anything. I'm face tanking 90% of everything because apparently the minions are just decorative. I picked up Raise Zombie because I liked the minion builds from PoE1 especially as someone with nerve damage in one arm. They last 20 seconds and I can't even use them on the act1 boss because the wolves he summon don't leave corpses. Cool, useless skill there. Then they also don't give flask charges. Cool, the times I don't quite dodge something despite pressing the dodge roll is great. Unearth takes up to 5 times cast to go in the direction I want and raise the corpse I'm aiming at. I farmed 5 levels in the manor before the boss trying to get more skill gems because clearly I went a terrible build path and got absolutely none drop. Cool, I guess I literally can't do that then.

I had to take very many breaks because something about the graphics is making me dizzy, and for some reason turning everything down makes it worse so they have to stay up.

I'd been having a blast, but the unearth issues, the mobs completely ignoring minions, getting shoved around by EVERYTHING no matter how big or small it is, and constantly cornered because of it is honestly really not enjoyable.

Sure, tell me to 'git gud' or position better. I'm TRYING to, I'm disabled, and it's HARD to do it, sometimes even painful to be doing it.
+1 I feel the same way. I don’t play Dark Souls games. I love the build planning, exploration of mechanics, and looting items in these games, but I don’t play ARPGs for the moment-to-moment gameplay. I have no interest in perfect dodge rolls or avoiding one-shots.

The dodge roll, in particular, makes it really frustrating to play a sorcerer. When I’m dodging, I’m not doing damage, and the fact that I need to dodge so often makes my gear feel irrelevant. On top of that, when using a controller, if you’re too far from the boss, the auto-aim becomes unreliable, and you can’t target the boss properly. This forces you to move into danger just to get the aiming right—something I suspect wouldn’t be an issue with a mouse and keyboard.

I also agree with the sentiment that beating a boss feels hollow and unrewarding. People talk about how defeating bosses should give a sense of accomplishment, but I never feel that way in games designed with that mindset. The loot drops don’t help either, but that’s not the only reason it feels hollow. I just don’t care about the process of overcoming these mechanics at all. This has never been why I play ARPGs, or games in general. I’m not a Dark Souls player and never will be. It’s not about "getting good"—I don’t know how to stress enough that I just don’t care. I’m far more interested in experimenting with my character build, finding gear, and learning all the systems than in the moment-to-moment combat.

I’m taking a break. After 7 hours, I don’t want to play anymore.
Oh lovely you just nerfed the skill i loved to use the damn skeleton archer! thanks I guess. ill help a lot!

I've been playing PoE for years, and I have thousands of hours in the game.

Today I played PoE2 for ~5 hours and rage quit.

I failed to kill the act1 boss 10 times, i have 22 deaths, and honestly........ it's NOT FUN.

The reason why I love PoE is that i DO NOT HAVE TO BE ZIZARAN to enjoy it.
Let's be honest, i've played for thousands of hours and I'm NOT good at it.

Do you know how many times I've killed Maven without being hit by the memory game? 0. I've never been able to dodge it with all the beams. It's a matter of skill. But you know? it never mattered because i had my freaking 6 portals. And by getting a lot more gear than what the GOOD players need, I can finally do it. In softcore of course.

And in the campaign, I can try to kill brutus multiple times. On a brand new character I was never able to pass the second map without being killed by Roas at least once since the rework of act 1. I just can't. I try. I'm NOT GOOD. It didn't matter, because i could progress anyways!

The "dodge or die" mechanic is boring to me. I do NOT play souls games because they are boring. There are other people that DO like that. It's totally fine, but it's not the gaming i like. PoE2 feels a LOT more like "souls" than PoE1 IMHO.

That's why I rage-quit. Because i'm tired of one-shots and having to re-do the whole thing again. Because of losing progression. I'm barely in act 2 and i'm already tired of this.

I understand your decisions, but they are not fun for me. I don't even want to make another character right now to see if it changes anything. Because I won't be able to dodge the mechanics; and therefore I won't be able to play it.

It's a shame :( I was beyond excited.
I have suggestions, but I don't think they matter, because you went in a completely different direction than I'd like.

I agree, bosses are hard, some even harder than others.

Still, I'm in act 3 as a squishy poison pathfinder. All you have to do is GIT GUD.

Nobody is forced to do anything. And you're also making a massive mistake - you're assuming everyone will actually get a sense of accomplishment through the process of 'gitting good' in the moment-to-moment gameplay loop, when for many people, this is not why they enjoy ARPGs at all.

y'all are just whining. You want everything to be easy? zoom zoom zoom like PoE1? ohhh look at me, I'll 1 shot this pinnacle boss that doesn't have a phase invulnerability. funny.

It's still early access, and I'm sure they'll do something to maybe tone it down, but there are still a lot of skills unavailable. Yes, I was also annoyed at the bosses how hard they are, some even 1 shot you if you fail to roll. I hated sanctum in PoE1, imagine when I had to ascend. I thought I would never ascend or overlevel so much before trying it. No, I did it twice only once I saw the boss mechanics on my first try, the 2nd one I downed the boss.

Who knows, maybe by the time those other skills and class will release, you'll have your zoom zoom dopamine.
Agreed, quite unfun so far, quite disappointing.
