Absolutely disapointed -- This game is hard, and not in a fun way.
Doing the campaign one time is fun, yeahe some stuff needs nerfs or buffs.
But a big but, doing it again and again with every new char doesnt sound fun at all. There needs to be a solution so you only have to do the campaign with it sids quests one time per league, so you can start with a new char after the first char finsihed the campaign and can do maps from lvl 1 or somethign similar. So short list of feedbacks after finishing the first 3 Acts -Some way to skip campaign after the first char each league finished it. Getting all Sidequest done one char in the league had finished. -Dodge roll has phasing for little enemies and not for big one. -More loot, you can run around a whole act without a real update. I done use any new item i got from act 3. -i like that bosses reset after death but the whole map? That does not feel fun. IGN: kReiZy

Take the endgame of PoE2, port it to PoE 1... and I am done for good with PoE 2... I actually like the longer fight, scarcer drops etc etc... but it*s axactly as I was afraid it would gonna be: Starting Boss Fights over and over after each single death is not for me.

" This made me laugh so hard. If you don`t like this approach for the game, than get back to POE1 and spam the maps with 1 skill and be proud you're killing everything without any effort. They stated from the beginning that this will not be another POE 1 and they delivered something spectacular. Hope they will not change the difficulty because it challenges you (to observe, think and act) and this is the most important thing. Last edited by bawaaji#1185 on Dec 7, 2024, 6:27:36 PM

Technically I like the game and there are moments where it nearly clicked - where I could see, how this can work.
But I have to admit, barely managed it at the beginning to the first encampement. Well not because I was absolutly not able to kill the miller, but after the first succesless attempts a nagging feeling startet to creep up in me: Maybe I am finally to old to play this game? I will definitly try to continue my journey as far as I get and try to get better on the way. But no idea how far this will get me. The bosses seem to become a real roadblock. |

The last time I had this little amount of enjoyment, I was passing a kidney stone.
Game is just stupidly tedious, takes far too much inspiration from Elden Ring/Dark Souls and tries to shove their mechanics and difficulty into the game, and is just... bad. There's no feeling of reward at any point of play, no gains from slogging through dying to the act boss over and over until you find the right approach, nothing. And for the ones who are doing their typical elitist nonsense... I'm glad you're enjoying it, but quit talking down to others who aren't. You're just being pricks about it. An early access period shouldn't require trial and error on the same level as PoE postgame content to determine what is actually viable or not. New players should be able to at least have a decently good time in the first act of the game, not be shown frustration and disappointment because they didn't find the one way GGG wanted them to actually play a game whose predecessor become well known for playing however you wanted through the main portion of the game. |

I am going to be there is some thread the needle type of build that might let us start with The Warrior but it feels like that might be a 2nd/3rd character. Which with the length of the Campaign is a very hard ask.
All of the footage we have seen is solo play, is there something we are missing where we are supposed to be grouping? As echoed by many there are some QOL that feel nice but it feels like we paid for it in blood. Top Issues: 1. killing monsters/bosses and losing loot to the area reset. 2. off screen abilities that 1-shot 3. no clear path when you dont get any gear or currency and hit an early wall. |

" Excuse me, what specific game knowledge, best gem combos, and optimal trees are you referring to? It seems that 95% of the discussion here is focused on Act 1, and not even on the final boss of Act 1. This section of the game is supposed to be designed to introduce players to its mechanics and systems. It should be easy enough to complete, even with your hands tied behind your back (figuratively speaking). The first 30 to 90 minutes of a game are crucial for making a strong impression; a game doesn't necessarily need to be immediately "fun" to engage players. Instead, it should: - Create curiosity or intrigue - Make a clear promise of fulfilling and rewarding experiences - Encourage players to feel that they are making progress and mastering new skills - Create an emotional connection or a feeling of immersion Some find enjoyment in POE 2, while others do not. We may be different, but we all want to enjoy the game we are playing. |

+1 OP
The game is not enjoyable at all in its current state. Dodge Roll and movement are really bad. Bosses are way too tanky, boss damage is too high, player damage is way too low. Keyboard control and perfectly timed dodge roll are mandatory to get through the game now. And then I saw which mechanic they decided to add as ascendancy content and after dying because I ran out of flasks at the final boss and being sent back to the beginning I decided that PoE2 is not for me. I never played souls like games because I don't care about them in the slightest, PoE 2 being turned into some clunky abomination that plays worse than D4, with game content for HC streamers is very disappointing. Unless this game changes fundamentally, I will not be playing it and I will not be spending money on it. PoE 2 is NOT "Diablo-Like". [EDIT] And to the "you are overreacting" crowd telling people to "git good". The game right now is a significantly worse experience than playing D1, D2 or even beta PoE 1 ever was. If you look at the video guides being posted right now, even the "easy leveling" and "beginner friendly" guides show gameplay that is slow as fuck and is boring on a level that is hard to describe. The gameplay is a total snooze fest. Watch the guides and tell me that those "tutorials" make you want to play the game. No matter what streamer I watch, the gameplay is the same boring shit with trash mobs harder to kill than doing a level 83 cortex with a level 68 free after Kitava random character in PoE 1.
