POE 2 Complete PC Freeze while loading screen

no nothing happened that i wasnt aware of.

1. game ran perfectly for literally 100+hrs
2. Instaled 24H2 - game starts to freeze
3. Install cumumlative update containing fixes stuff they broke in 24h2
4. game again plays freeze/crash free for hundreds of hours

Any conclusion other than it being 24H2 problem IN MY CASE would be [Removed by Support]

[Removed by Support]

again, others have other issues but my specific issue was that update and its been fixed [Removed by Support]

During the update/rollback a lot happen. For example upgrading/rolling back Windows can reset or modify registry entries, especially those related to System APIs, memory management, and process scheduling. Windows updates/rollbacks modify system APIs, sometimes changing how applications interact with system calls or security layers.

Another change is that services like Windows Event Log, Indexing, or SysMain may behave differently before and after updates. If the hard crash is triggered by one of these conflicting with the GGG's code, the update/rollback may temporarily fix the behavior by resetting those services.

In case you aren't aware, the reason why these crashes are happening is because something in GGG's code is improperly handling System APIs.

If the hard crash is due to a problematic part on a specific registry key or system setting, updating/rolling back might restore a stable state.

These are just the things I can remember of the fly.

But we can never know why exactly this is happening as GGG keeps being dodgy and dishonest.

As long as GGG is not interested in open and honest communication our only other option is to increase the pressure and warn others by giving a negative review for Path of Exile 2 on Steam in a detailed and informative manner.
I cannot send/reply to direct messages because my in-game character has not finished Act 1.
What to do:
1)Write a short review about the hard crashes in notepad.
2)Copy and paste it to steam reviews, put up a negative review.
3)Copy and paste it to steam discussions, put it up there.

Constant crashes on both Windows 11 and Linux desktop also. Same Machine, 2 different OS. No hardware changes.

This was a fresh clean install from windows to Linux, a project I was planning anyway due to privacy concerns with windows Copilot.

I understand POE2 does not have official support on Ubuntu but the crashes remain just as frequent. Only plus side is the PC does not hard reboot anymore.

Other games in Ubuntu:
WOW / D4 (installed through battle.net / Lutris)
POE1 (steam, and standalone through Lutris)
Many others in steam library using Proton

No crashes.

Old:
Windows 11 24h2

New:
Ubuntu 24.04
Steam Proton 9 (official from steam)
(GE Proton 9-21 through 9-25 all tested)

Hardware:
3080ti
i7-11700k
32gb Ram
1TB SSD for OS
+4TB storage
No blue screen crashes for me. And I keep the game running while I'm afk sometimes. Maybe I should not do that lol

I see my hardware setup all over this thread too.

Game still crashes and even more than before.

I've done benchmark tests, stress tests etc and my rig is performing extremely well. I've updated every driver, BIOS, made sure all settings are up to par but nothing helps.

I have over 500h in the game, so there has been periods where I have been able to play but most of those hours are from the early days when there were zero crashes. When the crash fiasko started to happen, I used the multithreading and uncrasher bandaids to maintain playing.

However now after the recent patch, even disabling Multithreading before using teleports, which was what I used to prevent crashes so far, doesn't help either. I've used the Poe2Uncrasher engine and even with that, the game crashes and more frequently to the point where I am simply unable to play at all. Also as a new problem, I've seen a big fps/stutter issue that didn't really occur before.

I don't know if my specs are of any relevancy at this point but here they are. And yes I am running Win 11 24H2:

AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
MSI MAG B650 TOMAHAWK WIFI (MS-7D75)
two of KINGSTON KF560C36-32 DDR5 SDRAM 32 GB
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070
EVGA Supernova 750 G2 80 PLUS GOLD 750watt gold super power supply

Just a update to keep the thread alive since the problem is definitely still there.
Same for me - still freezes on loading screens.
Happened first after updating to Win 11 24H2.
Nvidia drivers always updated.

no it was windows IN MY CASE, you're like a dog with a bone
If the game crashes only on 24H2, and it's fixed there, then try to upgrade to it, if you are still in 23H2 or below.
Still freezing the PC for me, especially trying to log in after waking up my PC from sleep mode. Anyone else having the same issue?
no i get your agenda i am aware fully of what goes on concerning my PC.

It was a windows issue, claiming you know whats going on my PC more than i do is the height of arrogance.

Not sure why you are banging on about rolbacks i didnt rolback my PC at all.

I also dont get why you are still hanging on forums for a game you clearly hate so much
