Please don't ruin POE2 by trying to appeal to POE1 zoom gamers.

Agreed with OP, more or less.
I fear that since GGG will have to pile up content into PoE 2, the same way they did with PoE 1, it will eventually become the same 'zoom' mess. The question is just how many years will it take. PoE 2 has a head start in 'zoominess', compared to PoE 1 from 2013. For me PoE 1 has become a nauseating game to play - mainly because of the visual clutter and absolute (irrelevant) mess that is the looting system. Very few things have meaning anymore in Poe 1 - even in SSF I had to maintain a very strict loot filter to be able to see anything at all, and progression stops a few days into the league anyway... Current PoE 2 seems to fix all of this. But power creep and the compulsion to shove in more and more stuff (say hello to 'fractions of particles, of fractions of splinters, of fractions of lesser orbs, of fractions of...' lul) will inevitably turn it into the same mess down the line. Enjoy it while it lasts ;) When night falls

This wish of OP's has already been tarnished when they showed us game footage from a stream not too long ago. Right out the door into PoE2, they've already revealed Delirium and Breach being added to the game. You know, two of the biggest timed incentives to forego a slow playstyle in order to maximize profit.
This opportunity to start over with a slow playstyle is already ruined. Mark my words, GGG will roll out more timed leagues as time goes on, subjecting PoE2 to the same fate of PoE1 where the speedfreak meta is of clearing maps in under a minute is once again the only option if you don't want to take forever farming currency to get your build online. PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds. Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build! " That is no where close to the truth |

1) The game was slow.
2) Streamers optimized the game and promoted fast clear speed. 3) GGG added new mechanics and lost the plot. 4) POE build nerds made clear explosion chars. 5) Playerbase had FOMO and copies cookie-cutter build. 6) GGG did not interfere because dont want to hurt cashflow. 7) Regular Joe now thinks poe is for zoomers. 8) You can still play poe 1 slow and tactical but fomo is strong in Joe. A similar story will unfold with poe 2. The gaming culture is now all about breaking the game and posting it on youtube to awe the plebs. Tibia, the oldschool mmorpg, went from roleplaying to powergaming over time because the younger playerbase had a different mindset. Last I checked you dont have to play the game with anyone. You can play it solo and play as slow as you want.

If I can't zoom in this game and dodge roll once while flying across the screen and exploding everything with some kind of spell/interaction then I'm uninstalling kek

" Some truth here, of course hindsight is valuable, but it goes both ways. If poe2 ends up being the 1button-kill-5screens-effect-vomit-fest I will stop playing. |

with zoom player does he mean zoomers or people who like to have a moving skill that enable them to zoom around the map to get from point a to point b faster?

That goes for PoE2 too. Don't ruin our zoom with slow bs.

" They mean players who run glass cannon builds designed around nuking screens with one button, that can run extremely fast, with the sole intent on clearing maps in under a minute to maximize profit per hour.
