Shop Hunting Chromatic Orbs

I am curious if this is a bug or not, or, if you like the behavior.

Now-a-days, every time I go in town, I check the shopkeep for all items, hunting for items with 3 connected sockets of different color, so I can get a Chromatic Orb on it.

I buy it with a Transmutation and I get a Chromatic on it.

I'd rather have it give shards of Jeweler Orbs, that way you can buy Chromatic Orb OR Orb of Fusing. One shot two birds.

Rare items gives crap for selling them at vendor right now...

Edit: I agree for getting Chromatic shards for selling skill gems.

Keep an eye out for when items that can sell for a chromatic drops too. Sometimes within a few hours of playing I always find a few pieces like that.

I always found it awkward to buy an item from a shopkeeper, and then immediately sell it back to them for a "profit."

I think at a minimum they should redo the calculation for shop item value to include the R-G-B link to cost a chromatic gem at a minimum to buy in the first place.

They said multiple times, that is absolutely desired to have that "big-deal"-option as reward for players who invest the time to check the vendors precise enough. Since the shop offers change only on char levelups, its not so frequently to be worried about... and to constantly relog your char is a mess - at least as long as there's no option to fall back into the char selection instead of a logout.

And, from my sight: I like it as it is, with that chance of a good deal - even more if we once can buy and sell without changing trade windows. Maybe there will be rare "nice" offers of white 5- and 6-linked too in late-game, havent seen it yet.

But, I also like the idea to get a kind of shard (for socket uses) on gem sales!

The shops resets to me like that: Buy menu, buy something, leave, press Buy menu again. It didn't work on potions or bows. Only orbs or portals or ...well, orbs.

Ya, the orbs always refresh when you close and open the buy window again, but I've never had an armor/weapon/jewelry item show up again to be purchased.

Shop resets only re-stockable items.

Hm, indeed, what you all say about "great deal" does make sense. And rewarding players for looking in the shop makes sense too. After all, it adds another dimension to the game. A bit of commerce.

I think I was wrong after all and this is something I should appreciate rather than compare to that silly Bejewelled game ::- D. Going to cut that right out of my post ::- D.

not 100% sure if its "enough" to reload the same char again, or only if you get a new town instance by timeout or chance.
