So what now?
" It's not about what others made, it's about what it does to the economy, mageblood as a SMALL example was 120div for a 4 flask just prior to the patch drop, the second the patch dropped it shot up to 200+ "and rising" this sort of thing during a league screws with the economy and is literally something GGG said they wouldn't do mid league. What about people who farmed a specific strat since league start now only to log in and see there entire savings of bulk items and progress is worthless now. It's about not fucking with the economy mid league unless it's a serious bug that needs addressing, the economy was as inflated as can be but let it settle where it settles and make changes end of league. |

" If people are going to throw a fit and want to quit the game "because mageblood prices" than you really just have to repeat this one to realize how crazy that sounds: "Man I can't play this game, mageblood prices are out of control" Imagine anyone coming to any game and whining about some item, that is NEAR BIS/ if not BIS, and having its price dictate if they want to play or not. Has to be the most laughable and nonsensical take ever. " Okay, conversely, what about all the people that farmed a different specific strat since league start now only to log in and see their entire bulk items and progress is worth MORE now. This literally happened last league when everyone was off doing Abyss, guess how many other mechanics went up to crazy amounts of price, DAILY by the way? Delve (every fossil, Doryanis, Auls), Chayula's, Yellow Harvest, Oils... tainted/goldens were out of control in price. If anyone plays this game, to worry about what people are doing with their magebloods, than maybe an approach needs to be changed from these players. Mash the clean

I'm just over here doing my silly little expedition, my silly little delve, and my silly little blight maps because they give steady consistent rewards that sell

Yeah, so what now? Were you on par with the big farmers last season? How about the one before? Or the one before that one? Yeah, thought so.
What are they supposed to do? Reset the entire economy because you got FOMO from watching a Grimro video? Award players who didn't do a specific strategy with stacks of Divine Orbs as "compensation"? The opposite of knowledge is not illiteracy, but the illusion of knowledge.

You're wasting your time and energy arguing with people who lack the necessary brainpower required (it's not that much, but still) to understand that what others do, what they farm, how they play and the currency they generate ; actually heavily impacts you within the boundaries of a trade league environment.
Just stop arguing with them, and let them keep repeating over and over : ''what others play and do doesn't impact you''. They are obviously so stuck in their way and stubborn that they will never change their mind, no amount of objective arguments and clever examples will ever make them realize how completely and utterly mistaken they are. Just tell yourself you're much smarter and therefore able to comprehend the ramifications and significance of currency generation, economics and a player's position within a league relative to one's purchasing power. (Let alone the ramification on player psychology and long-term player retention that this kind of loot showering abuse creates ; but that's a topic for another day.) Affliction and Necropolis worst leagues ever. The current game design has slowly turned this game into a loot-shower fest, chase uniques are way too available; and obtaining chase items through stacked decks and valdo's boxes simply isn't fun. " I wrote that mageblood was a "SMALL" example capitalized it and everything "because it's common 5 IQ ploy to nitpick a reply" and you proceed to respond with everything targeted at that item alone, maybe go look at poe.ninja and see the volatility on a slew of diff items before and after patch some in the trash other being driven to 3x 4x there price prior. And that is the problem it was a change made MID SEASON this is something they themselves said they wouldn't do in an interview unless it was a game breaking bug "which this wasn't". |

In this case I believe GGG made the right call to interfere with the economy by preventing the rogue exile exploit.
When "chase" items aren't chasable anymore due to an "exploit" people discover in the game mechanics, then yes they should put an end to it; regardless of the impact on the "economy" of the game afterwards. With the simple reason, people wouldn't have an incentive to play the game once they found or bought all of those items in the game. And I also believe they shouldn't do anything to "compensate" other players that didn't use that exploit. Also in this case the exploit was entirely GGG's fault creating/changing game systems that made it possible, it wasn't a bug. Thus it was a legit game interaction, therefore players can't (shouldn't) be banned for it. On that note, because of the exploit the economy for this league is already broken, them interfering doesn't make it worse. It actually will help to stabilize, especially this early in the league. Sure currently prices are out of whack and people will try and profit from it, while others pay the price. It's up to you to either see the opportunity in it or be the victim in this case. I certainly won't be buying some items at this point, because their price are inflated due to the changes... wait a few days or a week, and it will be better. In every league though, there are filthy rich people and embarrassing poor people. This is (sadly) how the current trade economy works in Path of Exile. Last league people were also dropping several mirrors per day with MF and the wildwoods for the entire league... Because of that the ecomony was out of balance the entire league and mageblood and chase unique prices dropped drastically on standard when they merged. To prevent an entire collapse they had to interfere in this case. It would not only affect the gameplay, but also their own income, and thus game's development. Especially this early in the league where their revenue skyrockets. So yes even from a business standpoint, they had to do something. Because a game where every player leaves 2 weeks into the league because they're done and have everything is a big no,no. Note, there are plenty of ways to "catch" up but they will take some more time and effort; as it should. |

" Its not a "small" example, its just an inappropriate one, as highlighted by the previous post. Saying to "go look at poe.ninja" is already problematic and conflicting with your initial post about mageblood price as well. Right now on ninja mageblood is not "200+ and rising" its this:
Spoiler
![]() Notably, ninja is problematic for pricing specific 4 slot mageblood's in a similar light as pricing a perfectly rolled ventor's. Its hard to keep track of this data when all rolls are included in one price on poe.ninja. So "go look at poe.ninja" is probably not what was meant to be said here. Again feel free to provide any examples, but make sure they are not problematic or wildly inappropriate; such as mageblood. As for "game breaking bug", the strategies being used were spawning so many mobs that it was freezing clients. Ben on stream yesterday lost his HC character because of strategies like this. "Game breaking" can also mean whatever it means to the developer, that term is not up to us. Make sure to remember to link those items that were "I want to make sure we are not using hyperbole or just straight making things up for the community here. Thanks! Mash the clean

" Wow again nitpicking reply, i said check for a "slew of diff items" and you go on and on about mageblood, you can check graphs for price fluctuation on poe.ninja to see market volatility not the price of a specific item without modifier adjustments such as mageblooed or ventors. If your asking me to do this for you then no, stop being lazy not hard to check the graphs on there. I can clearly see you would rather try to create some weird hyperbole made up argument to sound correct, and get caught up in one part of a post instead of reading what was actually wrote; or maybe it's above your understanding either way good day! |

" A more realistic gripe about how borked trading is would be how hard it is to sell mid value gear that you make or drop while mapping because there's endless league crafted stuff just sitting in people's quad tabs that have a smattering of fractures and T1 mods and junk on it. That made a huge impact on me because I liked to flip items like that for easy chaos early league. I'm missing out on a lot of early currency because of that, and probably a big reason why I've been belly aching about how drops feel lame. Stuff I'm finding just isn't selling so I'm not making very much currency map to map until I randomly drop something big. Jackpot or nothing. |
